New Durham Bees Vs PYFC Greens

The Greens travelled to New Ferens Park for matchday 9 in the Spring Cup. The pre match team talk to the boys was the same as always! There is no ‘I’ in team we work together, we pass the ball, we recover lost possession and we give 100% but most importantly we go out and have fun. The first half a brilliant display of what the boys can do when they work together the passing was at its best. The best we as coaches have witnessed this season. The chances the Greens created in the first half was outstanding but opposition keeper made some great saves. Even a free kick from Oliver 30 yards out rattled the crossbar. The whistle blew for half time and somehow the scoreline remained 0-0. The half time instructions were non existent it was simply go back out and do what you have just done the goals are coming and boy did they! Jake recovered possession from the edge of his box and as he does best he danced round 3 players showcasing his brilliant footwork and riffled the ball into the back of the net! The second goal sharply followed from a perfect corner by Rocco finding an unmarked Jake in the box who tapped it in off the volley. Likewise with the third Michael played the ball to Rocco following a quickly taken goal kick, Rocco dribbled the ball the full length of the pitch cut in on the inside and calmly curled the ball past the goalkeeper to make it 3nil. The boys continued to press and pass exceptional and they really did treat us coaches to a magnificent game of football! A huge well done to all of the kids for their individual and team performance.

MOTM went to Rocco for his outstanding performance two goals and an assist his best of the season so far.

Two more games to go for the Greens next week. 3 points is all that is needed to secure back to back promotion and another trophy to the collection for this group of kids.
