Every year I share the tragic tale of dear Jordan ❤️ Anyone passing from a car crash is tragic, but someone so young is just heartbreaking.

Unfortunately, there has been another very sad passing of a beautiful 17 year old as a passenger in a car accident. This is not someone I knew, nor do I know the family. But I can't help but feel very sad today.

Please, share this go fund me page, and donate if you can. I cannot begin to imagine what this family are going through. Sending get well wishes to the other 2 passengers whom were seriously injured.

I learnt to drive in a Dihatsu Move, in 1999! It looked like the Postman Pat van!! 😂 Here's a snippet of my L cars over the years. I'm torn between the Juke and the Puma as my favourites. 😍 My least favourite being the Peugeot 206cc. 😈
I know my learners would disagree, but I believe my mechanic would strongly agree...! Although roofless lessons were fun!

*Advance notice - Price Increase*

Due to increasing business costs, my hourly rate will increase to £45, from the 1st of May 2026.

I have not increased my hourly rate since January 2023, and this increase brings me in line with the majority of local instructors / schools.

Any new enquiries booking from the 1st of May 2026 onwards, shall be quoted at £45 per hour.

I have to give a big shout out to Aimee for some absolutely ace reverse bay parking yesterday. With her 3rd attempt being next to a car. Her face was a picture!! But, as most learners realise after the fact, it can actually be easier to park next to a car than an empty bay! They're a little easier to spot than a line on the ground..

I have to point out though, how straight are those wheels in the bay. 👌
The aim is for central and straight. But within the lines, safely and under control is the priority.
This Aimee, was perfection! 👌👏
Well done!!

P.s, can we please ignore the off centre L plate, and the massive bird p**p competing with it!! 🙈 Let's just admire the top tier parking skills..!

Huge congratulations to Oakley, who passed his driving test this morning! A cool, calm and collected approach to learning from the very start. And test was no different! Like a duck to water!

You were a pleasure to teach, and I have no doubt you will be car shopping tonight if you aren't already!!

16 years ago today, a wonderful learner of mine, tragically lost her life as a passenger in a car that slid on black ice and overturned into icy water. An absolute tragedy, that affected many lives, and had a profound affect on mine. Jordan's tragic loss very nearly ended my career before it had even begun. I was barely 2 years into teaching at this point. And it was a huge wake up call as to how important my job is, and the responsibility both us instructors, and examiners have, in preparing new drivers for independence out on our roads.

I very nearly gave up this job. It really terrified me. But luckily I had a chance encounter with a wonderful Senior Examiner. He had just conducted my first ever check test, mere weeks after Jordan's passing. My test went very well. Yet he was surprised at my lacklustre response to his positive feedback. I broke down, and I told him Jordan's story. I said I'm not sure I want to do this job. I don't want this responsibility. He said to me - yes, you can walk away, if that's what you feel is the right thing to do. Or, you can use this tragedy as a teaching tool. Get through to your students the risks involved with driving in such conditions. Turn it in to a positive.

And taking his welcome advice, that is what I have tried to do. I still tell Jordan's story. I share the news articles. Not just here once a year, but to my students on lesson.

I have taught hundreds of learners over the years, and every single one just as important as the next. But you, dear Jordan, you will always stay with me. ❤️
I still promise you I will one day eat crocodile!! I've just yet to find a restaurant that offers it..

The winter is here. De ice / mist your car fully. Check your lights / brake lights are working. Check your tyre pressures. Check the weather forecast. Choose safe routes. And if the weather or road conditions are too treacherous, just hang up the keys and leave the car at home. It's not worth the risk. Come home to your family this Christmas.

It's been an absolute pleasure to help you, and ultimately observe your confidence and independence grow. I have no doubt you will continue to talk to yourself, and tell yourself what to do now your passenger seat will be empty!
