This Volvo XC60 was booked in after the auxiliary drive belt snapped, leaving the vehicle unable to charge the battery correctly.

Work carried out:

✅ Full inspection of the auxiliary belt system
✅ New auxiliary drive belt fitted
✅ Tensioner and pulleys checked for correct operation
✅ Charging system checked after repair

Thankfully, the belt had simply reached the end of its service life and no further faults were found. A new belt was fitted, everything checked over and the vehicle was back on the road with the charging system operating as it should.

I was that focused on getting this one sorted that I completely forgot to take the usual repair photos… so here’s the only photo I managed to get! 😂

This Vauxhall Corsa was booked in after the customer reported a soft brake pedal.

✅ Full brake system inspection
✅ Brake fluid replaced
✅ Brake system bled
✅ Road tested

After replacing the brake fluid and bleeding the system, the brake pedal returned to normal and the braking performance was back as it should be.

This Citroën Berlingo (used as a dog walking van) was booked in after the DPF additive system required attention.

Unlike later systems that use AdBlue, this model uses a DPF additive fluid (Eolys) to assist with diesel particulate filter regeneration.

Work carried out:

✅ Correct DPF additive fluid sourced
✅ DPF additive tank removed
✅ Tank manually refilled with the correct fluid
✅ System checked following repair

This isn’t a repair you see every day, especially on the earlier PSA vehicles that use an additive system rather than AdBlue. Carrying out the refill correctly helps the DPF regeneration system continue to operate as intended.

This Fiat 500 was booked in due to a battery drain, leaving the customer with repeated flat battery issues.

Work carried out:

✅ Battery drain diagnosis carried out
✅ Electrical system tested
✅ Fault traced to the Blue&Me module
✅ Blue&Me module disconnected to eliminate the battery drain
✅ Customer advised of the fault and available repair options

After discussing the findings, the customer was happy to leave the Blue&Me module disconnected, resolving the battery drain issue and preventing further flat battery problems.

This Volkswagen Eos was booked in with an engine misfire and poor running.

Work carried out:

✅ New spark plugs fitted
✅ New ignition coil pack fitted
✅ Vehicle diagnostics carried out
✅ Road tested following repairs

The replacement of the ignition components significantly reduced the misfire and improved the way the vehicle runs. During diagnostics, a fault with the throttle body was also identified and the customer was advised that further repairs may be required to fully resolve the remaining issue.

Honest diagnostics and clear advice are just as important as the repair itself. I’ll always explain exactly what I’ve found and discuss the available options before any further work is carried out.

This Nissan work van was booked in after the auxiliary drive belt system developed excessive wear and noise.

Work carried out:

✅ New auxiliary belt tensioner fitted
✅ New idler pulley fitted
✅ New auxiliary drive belt fitted
✅ Belt alignment and operation checked

Worn tensioners and idler pulleys can cause belt noise, poor belt alignment and, if left too long, complete belt failure. Replacing the full belt drive components helps ensure reliable operation and prevents future breakdowns.

This Citroën DS3 was booked in after the engine developed issues caused by excessive heat.

Following inspection, it was found that a missing heat shield had allowed excessive heat to damage the rocker cover.

Work carried out:

✅ New rocker cover fitted
✅ New rocker cover seals fitted
✅ New spark plugs fitted
✅ Engine inspected and tested following repairs

A missing heat shield can allow excessive heat to damage surrounding engine components, so it’s important to address these issues before they lead to further repairs.
