A returning customer updated their motorhome, so we used the existing 460ah lifepo4 from the old van we fitted 2 years ago, then doubled the capacity by adding another 460ah lithium battery, a full SRNE-RVSolutions control system from Skyenergi and a 5kw diesel heater from Nordkapp AND maxxairfan swap out.

This system:

2x 460ah lifepo4 batteries: 980ah of total capacity!
3 x 200w bifacial lightweight rigid solar panels- 600w total
50a dual dc2dc and mppt charger
3000w pure sine wave inverter with RCD and ups function, built in 200ah mains charging.
Plus room for another 2 x 200w panels and a charge controller for future requirements if needed.

End result?
Total off grid freedom, including Aircon when needed!

Perfect fit!

Our first Titan 330ah lifepo4 under the driver's seat into this fiat based campervan, complete with a nomadic air plus deluxe roof fan.

We took a call from Mark in Cambridgeshire, he was at
Witts end having trouble with his recently installed "fully off-grid" battery and solar system in his caravan. He paid 4 figures for this system from another company just months earlier.

After talking on the phone and exchanging photos I was shocked that this would even be considered, so so so many issues beyond the 4 lead acid batteries, the only adequate components were the solar panels them selves and the inverter, zero fuses, totally brain dead cabling and yes- the charge controllers negative lead was a 25mm cable, and the positive a 2mm cable...

The previous company had been out twice to "troubleshoot" and had left Mark saying the system was fine and they would need to pat test all items in the caravan at a cost to him to find the fault.

DISGUSTING!

I haven't used a lead acid battery for anything other than for a vehicle starter for over a decade now, and when someone asks for a "fully off-grid system" we start at the base-l and build up- a decent lithium battery.

So we pulled the batteries, cables and charge controller, replaced with a fogstar 628ah lifepo4, victron 50a mppt, a fogstar 40a mains charger and appropriate fuses and cables, fired everything up and the customer is over the moon!

This is the system that should have been, and what the customer was expecting.
