🔧 Friday Appreciation Post 🔧

As the summer holidays start to approach and the first of our team heads off on holiday next week, we’d like to take a moment to thank both our customers and our team for their continued support, hard work and determination.

It’s been another busy and productive week in the workshop with a great mix of the usual servicing, MOTs, diagnostics, tyres, air conditioning work and repairs keeping the ramps full.

One of the highlights this week was a full engine replacement, fitting a genuine new Vauxhall Insignia engine. Jobs like this are a reminder of the skill, dedication and teamwork required behind the scenes to keep our customers on the road.

The photos show just a small part of the process, from the old unit coming out, preparation work, fitting a quality INA timing belt kit, through to the finished vehicle ready to be returned to its owner.

As always, we’re incredibly grateful to our customers for trusting us with their vehicles and to our team for consistently delivering a high standard of workmanship.

Looking ahead, the diary continues to fill up nicely for servicing, MOTs and repairs. One area that’s been a little quieter recently is our ECU remapping service, so if you’ve been considering improving performance, drivability or fuel economy, now is a great time to get in touch and see what’s available for your vehicle.

🚘 PEUGEOT 3008

Recently in with braking issues, which on these engines is often a sign of the wet timing belt beginning to deteriorate 🔧

On inspection we found the belt material had started breaking down and debris had blocked the oil pick-up, restricting oil flow to the brake vacuum pump causing no servo assistance.

Work carried out:

✅ Wet timing belt replaced
✅ Vacuum pump replaced
✅ Sump removed
✅ Oil pick-up strainer cleared and cleaned
✅ Sump thoroughly cleaned and refitted
✅ Fresh manufacturer spec oil and filter fitted
✅ Full system checks carried out
✅ Scheduled service carried out

These are a common issue across the Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall and Ds range.

Although regular servicing will not eliminate it, it goes a long way to extending there life.
Prevention is always better than cure.
