When cancer impacted a member of our own team, we wanted to show our support by raising funds for Maggie's Centres (Yorkshire).

This summer, our team at Birstall will be taking on a 195-mile cycle challenge, riding over three days, starting on 13th July.

Day 1: Crossroads Boroughbridge → Crossroads Hull
Day 2: Crossroads Hull → Crossroads Scunthorpe → Crossroads Rotherham
Day 3: Crossroads Rotherham → Crossroads Birstall

The challenge will see the team face demanding distances, tough terrain, and long days in the saddle - all in support of the incredible work Maggie’s does for people living with cancer.

I put a post up today about moving an empty trailer we have sold from Coventry to Heysham. I also said it’s not a £3.50 per mile round trip job, would suit someone passing bobtail. I got a fair bit of abuse for it, I didn’t want to pay £800 like some Norman’s quoted. I also didn’t expect it for free. I got it done for a price in the middle of that which was fair.

If I said it paid £9000 & a large kebab it still wouldn’t be enough for some out there. Some people are only happy when they are moaning about stuff on FB.

It’s an empty trailer to move 145 miles, someone quoted me what we were both happy with. I told him I would pay him immediately as soon as it’s dropped off, everyone is happy. Can’t get fairer than that.

I’m a massive advocate for decent rates in haulage, We wouldn’t send our trucks out the gate unless the jobs we were doing paid well. I don’t need a lecture on it from simpletons who don’t even own trucks😂
