🚗 Collection & Delivery – Important Update
We offer vehicle collection which happens between 9am–11am.
This service is chargeable, as it requires two members of staff and takes a significant amount of time out of the morning schedule.

Once collected, your vehicle is placed straight into the day’s diary for the day’s work.

❗ MOT Dangerous Failures
If your vehicle fails its MOT on dangerous defects and you choose not to proceed with the repairs, we will not be able to deliver the vehicle back to you.

This is because:
A dangerous MOT failure is legally unroadworthy
We cannot drive or transport a vehicle that has been deemed unsafe
Doing so would breach DVSA regulations and invalidate insurance
Recovery of a dangerous vehicle must be arranged by the owner
Your vehicle will remain on-site until you arrange recovery.

📅 All Other Vehicles
All other vehicles will be returned by 5pm the same working day, unless otherwise advised.

🔧 Fun Friday MOT Fact
Last month, the two biggest MOT failures for our site (from the cars that came through our doors) were:

Lights – blown bulbs, dodgy indicators, misaligned beams… the little things that catch everyone out.

Suspension – worn bushes, tired shocks, and the usual “Gosport roads have had enough of me” complaints - are you surprised with the amount of pot holes!

Both are simple, everyday issues — nothing dramatic — but they add up fast when MOT season hits.

So if your car failed on a bulb or a bouncy shock, you’re in very good company. It was officially our most common failure combo last month!

🔧 Fun Fact Friday: Air Filters vs Cabin Filters
Ever wondered what the difference is between your air filter and your cabin filter?
They sound similar, but they do very different jobs.

🛠️ Engine Air Filter
This one looks after your engine.
It filters the air your engine breathes, keeping out dust, dirt, leaves, and whatever else the road throws at it.
A clean air filter = better performance, better fuel economy, and a happier engine.

🌬️ Cabin Filter (Pollen Filter)
This one looks after you.
It filters the air that comes into the inside of your car — catching pollen, dust, fumes, and general nastiness.
A clean cabin filter = fresher air, less fogging, and fewer sneezes.

🚗 In short:
Air filter: protects the engine

Cabin filter: protects you

Both matter, both get clogged, and both make a big difference when they’re fresh.

🔧 Diagnostics: What They Are & Why Time Matters
Not all diagnostics are the same — and some faults take a bit more digging to get right. And even if a car has “already been plugged in somewhere else”, we still need to run our own checks to diagnose it properly.

🖥 Basic Code Read
A quick scan that pulls fault codes from the car’s computer.
Great as a starting point — but a code only points to a system, not the exact failed part. That’s why “here’s the code” isn’t enough for us to order parts or confirm a repair.

🔍 Full Diagnostic
A deeper investigation using code reads, physical checks, live data, and sometimes a road test.
This takes longer because we’re confirming the actual cause, not guessing based on a code someone else saw.

📊 Live Data Checks
We monitor real‑time sensor information while the engine runs.
Some faults only appear under certain conditions — which is why recreating the issue can take time.

⚡ Electrical Diagnostics
Testing wiring, fuses, relays, and circuits with specialist tools.
Electrical faults can be intermittent or hidden, so tracing them properly isn’t always quick.

🚗 Manufacturer-Level Diagnostics
Brand‑specific software that allows coding, resets, and deeper system access.
Some faults require this level of detail — and a code reader alone won’t show it.

In short: a quick scan gives clues, but not answers.
We run our own diagnostics so we can identify the right part, the real cause, and fix the issue properly — saving you money, time, and unnecessary parts.
