🍂❄️ SUMMER SUN, WINTER DAMAGE! ❄️🍂

Did you know that the summer heat could be affecting your horsebox hinges without you even realising? 👀

☀️ SUMMER: Prolonged exposure to sunlight and UV rays can gradually deteriorate the material of your Centaflex hinges, causing them to weaken over time.

❄️ WINTER: As temperatures start to drop, hinges that have already suffered from UV damage can become more brittle, making them increasingly prone to cracking, splitting or even breaking!

And let’s face it… the last thing anyone wants is a hinge giving up on them when they’re trying to use their horsebox! 😬

🔧 OUR ADVICE?

Now is the perfect time to give your Centaflex hinges a little TLC!

Check for signs of:
🔸 Cracking or splitting along the hinge
🔸 Discolouration or visible UV deterioration
🔸 Stiffness or signs of weakening
🔸 General wear and tear

If your hinges are starting to look a little worse for wear, it might be time to consider replacing them before the colder weather really sets in!

WE’RE BACK! 💙📞💻

We finally have internet again and our phone lines are back up and running! 🎉
There may still be the odd interruption while work continues in the local area, but we’re back on site and able to answer your calls, process orders and take payments as normal again.

We’ve got a fair few orders to catch up on after the last couple of days, so please bear with us while the team works through everything. We’re doing our very best to get everyone’s orders packed and on their way as quickly as possible! 📦💨

A HUGE thank you to all of our lovely customers for being so patient and understanding while we’ve been unexpectedly off the grid. It’s certainly not been a normal couple of days! 😅

And finally, a HUGE thank you to the whole team here at Specialized! 💙

Despite everything being a little chaotic behind the scenes, everyone has kept going, adapted and done everything possible to keep things running as smoothly as we could over the last couple of days.

We definitely couldn’t have done it without them! 👏💙

We’ll also be working through any outstanding calls, emails and queries as quickly as we can.

Normal service is resuming… and we’re very happy to be back! 💙

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE 🚨

We are unfortunately still without WiFi so the same as yesterday applies. 😭

We have been told that this should be back up and running by 7pm tonight however there is no guarantee unfortunately. 🫠

We are however managing to get a little bit of signal to hotspot our computers at the trade counter to be able to process orders and book on with our couriers so orders can be sent out, however please be aware this is very intermittent so as much as we’re trying there’s no guarantee your order will be processed as quickly as normal so there may be a slight delay to you receiving orders. 🥺

Once again our phone lines are still open so you can reach us, card payments both over the phone and at our trade counter are still not possible unfortunately so all payments will have to be either cash or via BACS. 💵

📦 TRADE COUNTER
Our trade counter is open as usual, but without access to our systems we’re unable to process new orders or take payments in person at the moment.

We’re hoping everything will be back up and running tomorrow, but unfortunately this is outside of our control, so we can’t guarantee this just yet.

☀️ HOW are we nearly at the end of August already?! ☀️

We swear it was May about 10 minutes ago… but somehow the Summer Bank Holiday is nearly here! 😂

We know, we know — it feels a bit early for the Bank Holiday reminder. But if this year has taught us anything, it’s that you blink and suddenly it’s Christmas and you’re wondering where the last four months went. 🎄😅

So, before everyone gets too excited about that glorious extra day off…

💬 “I’ve got this gas strut that needs replacing, but I don’t know what I need…”

Don’t panic. We speak fluent gas strut. 😎

Before you message us saying it’s “about the size of a 20p coin”, try this…

🐴 Simple Rule:

Tack Locker, Top Door or Grooms Door
➡️ Usually an 8-18 or 10-23

Ramp
➡️ Usually a 14-28

Gas Strut that pulls your ramp rather than pushes
➡️ You’ll need a Traction Strut

Still not sure?

Congratulations. You’re now being promoted to Gas Strut Detective. 🕵️

📏 Measure the full extended length minus the end fittings
(When the fitting starts, your tape measure stops.)

📏 Measure the stroke width
(The thin rod bit.)

📏 Measure the body width
(The chunky bit.)

📏 Measure the stroke length

For example:

✔️ 8mm rod
✔️ 18mm body
✔️ 150mm stroke

= 8-18-150

Turns out our gas strut naming department was feeling particularly creative that day. 😂

Look for the number starting with GS.

GS8-18-150 = Search for 8-18-150 on our website and you’re basically a gas strut expert now.

This amazing duo recently took on Jeremy Clarkson's Farmfest, and what a performance it was! Gabs and Bear truly showed everyone what they're made of, and we couldn't be more honoured to have been invited to support them once again.
