☀️ HOW are we nearly at the end of August already?! ☀️

We swear it was May about 10 minutes ago… but somehow the Summer Bank Holiday is nearly here! 😂

We know, we know — it feels a bit early for the Bank Holiday reminder. But if this year has taught us anything, it’s that you blink and suddenly it’s Christmas and you’re wondering where the last four months went. 🎄😅

So, before everyone gets too excited about that glorious extra day off…

💬 “I’ve got this gas strut that needs replacing, but I don’t know what I need…”

Don’t panic. We speak fluent gas strut. 😎

Before you message us saying it’s “about the size of a 20p coin”, try this…

🐴 Simple Rule:

Tack Locker, Top Door or Grooms Door
➡️ Usually an 8-18 or 10-23

Ramp
➡️ Usually a 14-28

Gas Strut that pulls your ramp rather than pushes
➡️ You’ll need a Traction Strut

Still not sure?

Congratulations. You’re now being promoted to Gas Strut Detective. 🕵️

📏 Measure the full extended length minus the end fittings
(When the fitting starts, your tape measure stops.)

📏 Measure the stroke width
(The thin rod bit.)

📏 Measure the body width
(The chunky bit.)

📏 Measure the stroke length

For example:

✔️ 8mm rod
✔️ 18mm body
✔️ 150mm stroke

= 8-18-150

Turns out our gas strut naming department was feeling particularly creative that day. 😂

Look for the number starting with GS.

GS8-18-150 = Search for 8-18-150 on our website and you’re basically a gas strut expert now.

☀️ That’s us officially CLOSED for the Bank Holiday weekend! ☀️

And what a weekend it’s shaping up to be… sunshine all round, hot weather and long evenings — what more could we ask for? 😎

We’ll be back in from 9am on Tuesday 26th May processing your orders as normal, but until then we’ll officially be on “Do Not Disturb” mode, pretending we live somewhere tropical with a beach and a cocktail for the next 3 days 🍹🏖️

Enjoy the sunshine, stay safe in the heat, and don’t forget your animals may need a little extra care and attention in these temperatures too 🐴☀️

🚚 BANK HOLIDAY DELIVERY UPDATE 🚚

Another Bank Holiday weekend is nearly here, so please make sure you get your orders in as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

📦 NEXT WORKING DAY DELIVERY CUT-OFF:
✅ Orders placed BEFORE 12pm on Thursday 21st May will be dispatched for delivery before the Bank Holiday weekend.

⏳ Orders placed AFTER 12pm on Thursday 21st May up until 12pm on Friday 22nd May will be delivered on Tuesday 26th May.

📅 Any orders placed AFTER 12pm on Friday 22nd May will be processed for delivery on Wednesday 27th May.

⚠️ Our advice is to order as soon as possible if you need your items before the Bank Holiday. This gives us extra time to help should there be any courier delays.

🏪 Our trade counter will remain open as normal on Friday 22nd May for collections, but after 4pm we’ll be closed for the Bank Holiday weekend.

We’ll be back open and processing orders as normal from Tuesday 26th May.

Our newest office addition is the “Topic of the Day” board… otherwise known as whatever our office manager/social media manager has seen on TikTok at 11pm the night before 📋✨

Which unfortunately means the team are now unwilling participants in every trending debate, opinion and mildly chaotic conversation currently circulating the internet 😭

At first everyone acted like they hated it… now everyone walks into the morning meeting pretending they “don’t care” while immediately checking the board 👀☕

To be fair, it does get the team talking first thing in the morning — mainly because nobody’s actually awake enough to start work yet 😂

This week’s topic though? Absolute mistake.
“How do you pronounce scone?”

If you’ve seen the new film Apex… you’ll understand what we mean when we say the office nearly turned into a real life version of it over the pronunciation of the word 💀

Who knew one tiny baked good could divide a team faster than the thermostat temperature 🌡️😭

Safe to say HR may need to ban food pronunciation debates moving forward.

👉 TODAY is your last chance to get your orders before the long weekend
👉 Order before 12pm = delivered in time
👉 Order after 12pm = it’s having a long weekend too and won’t reach you until Tuesday

Our couriers are also off enjoying themselves, so nothing’s moving over the Bank Holiday.
