It is with great pride for our school to give Charlie Simpson a big shout out.
Many driving schools don't give the recognition that is deserved by some of their instructors. But then we are different.

Here are two customer reviews of two students who passed their driving test very recently, in June.

"I would absolutely recommend having Charlie as a driving instructor - I had previously done tests with another instructor in which caused me to stop learning to drive completely for a nearly 2 years, but as soon as I started lessons with Charlie, I had more confidence in myself and my driving as she has such a lovely presence and is such a kind person which really helped calmed my nerves. She helped me so much to pass first time with her! 🥰"

"Charlie is amazing. A reliable, kind, fearless, happy, patient driving instructor. Our daughter immediately felt at ease with Charlie. She grew with confidence and knowledge with every lesson. This is Tilly, a pupil of A Star Driving School and from Godalming, passed her practical driving test this week in Portsmouth.
Kevin Trimming her instructor said of Tilly, Learning to drive was a real challenge for her, and her reaction when the examiner was priceless. I am over the moon for her!

A very hearty congratulations to Sourabh for his recent pass at the Guildford test centre with an incredible ZERO faults.
Kevin Trimming who was his instructor is A Star's most experienced senior instructor and great credit to him for such an excellent quality of instruction.

Well done Arindam who today passed his driving test first time in Chertsey with just 4 minors.
His instructor Kevin Trimming said Arindam found driving in the UK very different and more challenging than his previous experience in India, which he described as "not driving but surviving" :)

This is Camille who had a driving test earlier this week at the Guildford test centre. Passed with just 2 minor faults. Her instructor was Kevin Trimming who remarked “Great drive Camille. Enjoy your success and drive safely”.

Big congratulations to Lara Gethen-Smith who passed her test first time with A Star Driving School with just three minors at the Portsmouth Test Centre on 28th March. Now it means Lara doesn't have to walk up that hill to college anymore; yeah ! :) Well done Lara, a deserved result; well done

The prices of fuel prices are in a state of turbulence at the moment, so here are a few simple tricks to reduce consumption and same some 💸:

𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 💨

Your driving patterns can have a significant impact on fuel consumption.

Gentle acceleration and utilising the higher gears, safely will help reduce fuel usage.

𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝘆𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 🛞

Ensuring the air in your tyres is topped up improves fuel efficiency, as there is less rolling resistance with the road.

Checking your tyre pressure regularly can assist fuel preservation.

𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 ⚖️

Try to give your backseat and car boot a clear out to minimise excess weight.
More weight requires more fuel for those steep hills!

If you can it, try to avoid rush hour traffic (we know this isn’t possible in a lot of cases)!

Traffic requires drivers to repeatedly stop and accelerate. This driving style is both irritating and inefficient for fuel consumption!
