⚠️Shocking figures reveal more injury crashes happened on 20mph roads in Scotland last year than on 40mph, 50mph, or even 70mph roads. This surprising data is fuelling a major debate over blanket 20mph speed limits.

New data shows 570 injury collisions on 20mph roads, compared to just 254 on 40mph roads and 268 on 70mph dual carriageways. While the Scottish Government insists lower speeds improve safety, critics argue these figures raise serious questions about their widespread rollout plans.

✔️ Check your tread depth (the legal minimum is 1.6mm, but replacing tyres before they reach this limit can improve wet-weather grip)

🛞 TYRE SAFETY TIP TUESDAY 🚗
When did you last check your tyre pressures?

It’s one of those little jobs that’s easy to forget, but keeping your tyres correctly inflated can make a real difference every time you get behind the wheel.

Driving with the wrong tyre pressure can:

⚠️ Affect your car’s handling and braking
🛞 Cause uneven or premature tyre wear
⛽ Reduce fuel efficiency
🚗 Make your tyres work harder than they need to

Our Tuesday tip: Check your tyre pressures regularly and always before a long journey. Remember to check them when the tyres are cold and use the pressure recommended for your vehicle – you’ll usually find it in your handbook, inside the fuel flap or on the driver’s door frame.

And don’t forget the spare if your car has one!
