✨A small update for our bike community✨

As many of you are aware, Reiten has sadly come to an end. A situation none of us expected or wanted. With Rachelle and David’s very kind permission, one of our technicians wanted to share a little bit of news here for those wondering what comes next for their bikes.

After much thought, Ethan has decided to take the next step and open his own motorcycle servicing workshop , while having a strong focus on BMW's, he will be working on other brands too. Ethan has already acquired all BMW special tooling and service tools in order to carry out the highest quality of work, even catering for the most recent 1300 engine! With a personal interest in the Oil Cooled Series he will be offering support to this community by specialising in the common issues they were plagued with (clutch, seals, pumps etc), which is a common reason these brilliant bikes are often put out of action.

The workshop isn’t open just yet, but his aim is simple:

✅️ Provide a professional servicing option for customers old and new

✅️ Carry out all work in line with manufacturers guidelines to ensure your bikes keep a full service history and maintains the warranty

The intention of this post is to put the feelers out and see who would be interested once he's ready to open. ❗️NOTICE OF BUSINESS CLOSURE❗️

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Reiten Motorrad, Suffolk, has ceased trading and has entered voluntary liquidation.

Opening our own BMW showroom in 2018 was a long-held dream, and we pursued it with belief, hard work and pride. We built a loyal customer base and worked tirelessly to grow the business through some incredibly challenging years. Covid struck before we had the chance to gain real momentum, and the financial and operational pressures that followed made trading increasingly difficult.

Over time, the costs and requirements associated with being a BMW dealer increased, and meeting these standards as a small, independent business became progressively more demanding. At the same time, wider market conditions shifted. Interest rates rose sharply and significant discounting within the network placed additional pressure on us as a family-run dealership.

In the last year we expanded our workshop to support customers across Suffolk and Norfolk based on our understanding of the service arrangements in place at the time. Changes to these arrangements, combined with the difficult economic landscape and the cumulative pressures of recent years, created challenges that became impossible for us to overcome.

Our experience highlighted the difficulties faced by small independent dealerships operating within a large national network. While the structure may work well for some, it ultimately became unsustainable for us despite our best efforts and our commitment to the brand and our customers.

We also want to express our sincere appreciation to MotoGB. Our experience with them has been extremely positive, and their support throughout our partnership has been greatly valued.

This has been an incredibly difficult decision and not one we ever imagined having to make. We poured everything into this business emotionally and financially, and we are truly grateful to everyone who supported us. To our customers, suppliers, friends and the local motorcycling community—thank you. Your trust, loyalty and encouragement meant more than we can ever express.
