TAU Racing Formula Student Launch Event 2026

It was great to see the University of Aberdeen’s Formula Student team unveil their 2026 car at the recent TAU launch event.

G&M previously supplied radiators and an intercooler for the team’s 2025 build. The switch to a dual-radiator setup helped resolve the overheating issues they had experienced, with the finished components fitting the car well and supporting a successful competition season.

The team went on to finish 1st in Scotland and 12th overall out of 59 teams in their class last year, an achievement they should be extremely proud of.

We’re delighted to have played a small part in the project and wish the team every success with the 2026 car and the season ahead.

Andrews Retirement

This week we said goodbye to Andrew as he retired after many years with the business.

Throughout his time here, he became someone many people turned to for support, advice and knowledge, and he will be greatly missed by those who had the pleasure of working with him.

The team will miss his unexpected facts and interesting bits of knowledge that could brighten up any day and take a conversation somewhere nobody expected.

We thank Andrew for his years of contribution and wish him a very happy and well-deserved retirement

Sample to Solution

A recent job moving through G&M from original sample to completed unit.

With a tight deadline in place, the sample was collected and the replacement turned around within one week, ready to go back out to the customer on time.

From stripped-down original parts through fabrication, finishing and final assembly, this job is a strong example of the speed, flexibility and in-house capability behind the work carried out by the G&M team.

At G&M, we understand how important deadlines can be, and we do everything we can to ensure units are out the door when promised.

G&M Bespoke Wire Wound Oil Coolers

At G&M we manufacture a wide range of bespoke heat exchanger products to suit customer requirements, whether working from samples, drawings or technical information.

This recent project involved the manufacture of two steel wire wound oil coolers, produced as replacement units from the original samples supplied.

These coolers were required for a heavy duty offshore application, where reliable oil cooling is essential for equipment operating in demanding conditions.

Projects like this show the breadth of G&M’s manufacturing capability across specialist cooling products and demanding applications.
