1st driving lesson coming up? ๐ฎ๐
โHere is our ultimate tip to get you started: Get to know your pedals! ๐ค
โA great trick to remember them from left to right is C-B-A (Canโt Be Arsed! ๐) in a manual car.
โHere is what they actually do:
โA โ The Accelerator (Gas): Found on the far right.
Fun fact: This isn't actually the pedal that moves the car from zero! It simply feeds fuel and air into the engine to make you go faster. You will use it when setting the gas and on those tricky hill starts.
Always press this gently with your right foot. ๐ฆถ
โB โ The Foot Brake: Found in the middle.
This does exactly what it says on the tinโit slows you down and brings you to a stop. Squeeze it gently at first, then add a little more pressure as you come to a stop(just like squeezing the brakes on a bicycle).
Only use your right foot for this!
โC โ The Clutch: Found on the far left.
This is the magic pedal that connects your engine to the gearbox and wheels to make the car move.
โHow to find the "Biting Point":
1๏ธโฃ Press the clutch all the way down with your left foot and engage 1st gear.
2๏ธโฃ Lift it up slowlyโthe width of a pound coin at a time.
3๏ธโฃ When you feel a slight vibration, the car dips/lifts, or the engine sound changes... you've found it! Hold it still here for a second or so alongside setting the gas as the car moves!
Every car feels a bit different so don't worry if it takes you a few attempts thats completely normal!
โ ๏ธ This pedal is strictly for your left foot!
โGood luck with your 1st lesson! ๐๐คYou've got this.
