Sometimes the smallest design changes make the biggest difference.

Our client had converted a spare bedroom into a dining room but one thing still didn't feel right was the full-height mirrored wardrobe doors.
Rather than replacing perfectly good doors though, we transformed them using our matte acid frosted window film.

Instead of covering the mirrors completely, we designed a subtle feature using 50mm clear horizontal bands. The result softened the mirrors, added texture and created the appearance of bespoke decorative glass.

The room instantly felt calmer, more elegant and much more in keeping with the dining space.

It's a perfect example of how architectural window films aren't just for privacy or solar control. They can completely transform an interior without the cost of replacing the glass.

Client confidentiality was the priority on this project

This therapy clinic was looking to improve privacy within its consultation rooms due to direct views from neighbouring buildings overlooking the premises.

Client confidentiality and discretion were a key consideration, with the aim of creating a more comfortable environment where visitors could attend appointments without feeling visible from outside.

Following consultation, a bespoke solution was developed using a custom printed privacy film. Rather than applying a standard frosted finish, the privacy effect was printed directly onto clear film at 60% opacity, allowing us to create a softer, more refined appearance while still maintaining excellent levels of privacy.

To reinforce the clinic's branding, the company logo was incorporated into the design using a double-strike print process. This allowed the logo to stand out clearly against the frosted background, creating a subtle but professional branded finish throughout the premises.

The finished result delivers both practical privacy and visual branding in a single application. A great example of how custom printed window films can combine privacy, branding and interior aesthetics without the need for blinds, curtains or permanent alterations to the glazing.

Solar control and privacy window film for hospitality accommodation

Location: Oak Tree Inn, Balmaha
Purpose: Improve guest privacy and reduce solar heat gain
Material used: Solarscreen Vista 80c

Each of the hotel’s accommodation pods featured a full width glass frontage which faced open fields and pedestrian walkways, creating real privacy concerns for guests within the rooms.

Due to the south-facing orientation of the glazing, the pods were also experiencing significant solar heat build-up during brighter periods of the day, making the rooms uncomfortable for occupants.

To combat this, we installed a dual relfective, intenal reflective film across the glazed elevations to help improve both comfort and privacy within the accommodation.

The selected film was chosen to help:
• improve daytime privacy for guests within the pods
• reduce direct glare and harsh sunlight
• reduce solar heat gain to create a more comfortable internal environment
• maintain natural daylight while improving overall usability of the space
• provide a clean, subtle external appearance in keeping with the accommodation design

To minimise disruption to operations, each pod was completed during the turnaround period between guest check-out and housekeeping preparation, allowing installation work to be carried out without affecting availability of the accommodation.

A great example of how window film can provide practical privacy and comfort improvements for hospitality environments without interfering with operations or availability to guests.

Glare reduction window film for commercial buildings

Location: Bearsden Golf Club
Purpose: Reduce sun glare on screens
Material used: Solarscreen Vista 80c

The club was experiencing strong glare issues on screens within the function suite caused by the large south-facing glazed elevation.

Following a site survey and glass specification, we installed our Solarscreen Vista 80C internal reflective film across the glazing to help reduce glare and improve comfort within the space while still maintaining plenty of natural daylight
The selected film was chosen to help:
• reduce glare on tv screens and presentation displays
• improve visual comfort within the space for guests
• reduce solar heat gain to create a more comfortable environment
• maintain a bright, open internal appearance with minimal light reduction

Due to the height and shape of the glazing, we used a compact MiTower platform to safely access the upper sections during installation and all work was completed in one day.

Branding that works with the building

At this care home facility, the brief was simple on the surface:
apply a large-scale logo to the main reception glazing that wasn't overly imposing.

But like most glazing work, the detail matters.

• maintain internal light levels
• avoid overpowering the façade
• remain legible from distance without becoming intrusive up close

The roof windows looked directly onto exposed pipework and roof structure above the room which was messy to look at and difficult to keep clean.

GLARE REDUCTION WINDOW FILM

Back out in Bothwell to conplete a job we sampled recently. The client asked us to install a sample window with a glsre reduction film and after seeing and feeling the effect they've asked us back out to do the remaining windows.

This installation is for glare reduction as they have quite large windows that are south facing and see a lot of blinding sunlight.

We installed our a Chrome 285XC on this one which has a huge 87% in glare reduction and its made an instant and considerable improvement for the client.
