2 vehicles from today where DDTSB one again proves why we must have access to these documents if we want to give ourselves a chance in getting things correct first time.

⭐ HONDA CRV
There was a lane assist or Radar/Sonar message on the dash. There was a fault code stored (P2583 millimetre wave Radar Misalignment). This was booked in for an ADAS Calibration but as part of my checks I found this TSB regarding a software bug. Hopefully this customer will now trust me and not have to return to my workshop after an ADAS Calibration when he actually needed a software update 👌.🥂

⭐SKODA Petrol engine
This vehicle previously broke down with misfires and white smoke from the Tailpipe, it was not happening today and the codes had been cleared since then so we need to wait for that "Injector" to fault again 🫣.
There was a P0171 system lean, there also was a DDTSB for this fault code and it was letting us know that the oil separator causes this and there is an updated part number
Our vehicle Did have the old separator part number and yes indeed there was an updated part number exactly as DDTSB shows us in the images.

Absolutely Class documentation from the boys and team over in Denmark, they are really leading the way and I'm greatfull to have Access.

I've made some small changes to the workshop and I'm also waiting on a new Topdon UK Trolley and some fancy workshop furniture which I'm sure you will appreciate.
Pics to follow when the stuff arrives.

Btw the Topdon trolley is a new updated design and comes built on a pallet as it's not some flimsy build it yourself chinesium number. I'm excited to get it so I can mount a screen etc

Vauxhall Zafira. Diesel ⛽

Intermittent start and stall, Crank Non start 😔

Initially I found Oil in the ECU connector and it was thought that the 5V Ref was being lost but that seems to be all a bit of a red herring.

When the Engine stalls I observed the Fuel Rail pressure at 0 Psi, when it starts I have good pressure 300bar or so!

I initially thought this was a bad Fuel pump relay, unfortunately for me it would sometimes behave like a bad relay while I was testing but this is why we test and the bypass to verify the diagnosis...in the end it was a bad low pressure pump.

Before you guys ask why I didn't just go to the low pressure fuel pump, Alldata was telling me it was a Tank down job to get to the pump so I done my testing at the relay.

Fault codes stored for all 4 Camshaft Valves,
I verified they all use the same power supply which is a 10Amp fuse ST3 SC7. It was blown.

I replaced it and it stayed out for the road test then it was good for 2 more days but it's blown again so this one will be coming back in to see if we can find the route cause. This might be difficult as it's intermittent but we shall record it. We may even use the Pico Masks for fun 😊

I've been powering through some ADAS jobs recently and it's been enjoyable. This mercedes vehicle was the latest to get the Topdon lazers pointed at it 😄🙌🍾

I feel confident now with the Kit which is a Topdon UK tool so you know it's well made. I'm at the point now where I know how and when to make the little adjustments to get through the calibrations

If your thinking about getting an ADAS kit just be aware these kits aren't cheap but the Topdon Kit is very reasonable in comparison to other kits and it's compact to store in your workshop.

ADAS faults are becoming very common as you've probably noticed so IF YOU ARE looking for a kit give me a message for a price. You will receive the same guarantee and support as if you bought direct from Topdon themselves except I can give you a little discount or throw in a scanner or something like that 📢🙌🔫🙏🥳

Jack was Online today performing a software update to this Renault Traffic for an Adblue low level message on the dash. The software update solved the problem and it's all good.
Guys this vehicle was drawing 115 Amps for a sustained period of time during the update. Granted the battery was spanked on this van but it just shows how important Stabilised Voltage is for us in the workshop.

🫣 Parking Aid system fault on dash.

👀 I confirmed the parking Aid system did have a fault on the display. I could not bring up the Distance Graph when pressing the button or when I put it in reverse gear! NO Fault codes stored ...

Here is the weird thing, if I performed an ignition Cycle after this initial problem happens then the system would be fully working again.

🤠 I suspected a software issue or a module problem. I could not find any TPIs. I found an updated software version available. I confirmed we had the early software so I flashed the parking Aid module 76 from SW 0577 to SW 0581.

I Flashed the module using Odis Engineering and thankfully the problem is now solved. I recorded a wee video for you guys to see.

Keep this in mind if you come across it yourself

It was a VAG Group Sports car Kind of day today at MA Headquarters 🫣👌🔫

The R8 V10 Spider had an EML on dash and running rich my eyes were watering, various faults for camshaft position.

The Golf GTI has a Radar Comms fault, new Radar ready to go and and then get calibratied using the Lazer guided super duper Topdon Kit 🍺😎👌. This customer is taking this to the Nurburgring soon so wants the Radar sorted for the journey

The TTRS is off it's nut! Super quick car but it has some gremlins, the suspension light is on and occasionally the ESP light flashes and is under powered at times

📢 I have the R8 fixed I'll post that case up tomorrow, I have diagnosed the TTRS suspension fault, and the Golf is getting it's Radar tomorrow.

VW T-Cross

ABS Activation at low speeds.

Guys not sure if you remember this one, there was a fault with the ABS module and it was a known issue,
We discussed possibly sending it to ECU Testing for repair.

I have to say ECU testing were quite good to deal with, I like that they Email you a print label and don't charge you if it cannot be repaired

Okay so I got an Email from ECU testing to say 'please call us to discuss your repair' this usually means bad news...Our module is found to be faulty but is Beyond repair.

We end up having to fit a new ABS module, A1 Remote Diagnostics programmed it in for me, those guys are absolutely brilliant and have been key in alot of my jobs.

🫣 1 THING TO LOOK OUT FOR 🫣
The original Clutch slave cylinder pipe failed during the brake bleed. With less than 1.5 Bar of pressure the plastic end came loose from the steel part. There is a Superseeded pipe available which is now fitted.
