Lets see who can spot the problem on this clip..........................................................Got it?? Great! Well done!πŸ‘

Not yet? Ok, let me explain.

If you are turning from major to minor road with oncoming car close by, who has priority? Correct, the oncoming car. This is due to the fact you are CROSSING the path of traffic. Looking at the clip and diagram, not one but TWO vehicles struggled to understand this concept! Car 2 SHOULD AND MUST giveway to Car 1 for the exact reasons as above. It really baffles me some of the standard of drivers that are on the roads! Luckily my pupil had very quick reactions to spot the vehicles!

More on what driving instructors have to put up with!😠

Pupil on their very first lesson, going through the controls lesson and then......well......all I can say is, there is no need for this! Public road, nowhere near his driveway! The entitlement of some people! I'm just glad that my pupil has a very good sense of humour! (Skip to near the end for the surprise!)πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

My congratulations this time goes to Mr Connor Gallagher on passing his driving test this afternoon at Bishopbriggs Driving Test Centre. From one thing to another, commitments got in the way of Connor from sitting his driving test earlier. When he finally had time to take stock and prioritise matters, he was fully focused and in 'the zone'! This was fully demonstrated when he came back with a fantastic FIRST TIME pass! Superb work!!πŸ‘

Was a pleasure to finally get you over the line Connor. Was a long time coming but, you know what they say, good things comes to those who wait! Wishing you all the very best in your future driving experiences. Well done again Connor!!πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ₯³πŸš—πŸŽ‰

***OVERTAKING***

When is the correct moment to overtake? It is when you can clearly see the path ahead is clear. Not near a bend. Not over a brow of a hill. And certainly not when you add in both of the above WITH A CYCLIST! If you are not certain to overtake then DO NOT DO IT!

***DECISION MAKING***

*Yes, learner drivers are notably slower than experienced drivers. *Yes, learner drivers are inexperienced when it comes to decision making.

But when it comes from an 'EXPERIENCED DRIVER', do you think this driver made the correct decision to enter the roundabout? (Skip to 00:32)

πŸ‘ -YES ❀️ - NO

My congratulations this time goes to Miss Catherine Holland on passing her driving test this morning at Bishopbriggs Driving Test Centre. If ever there was to be a prime example of a pupil that would go through their paces from start to finish, then Catherine would undoubtedly be it!πŸ‘Œ Ever attentive to the lessons, she would work extremely hard in order to correct the wrongs to make them right. Her attention to detail was exemplary. So much so, she came back from her driving test with amazing, complimentary comments by the examiner on her FIRST TIME pass, with just a single, solitary minor fault! Fantastic!!πŸ‘

Was an absolute pleasure teaching you Catherine and helping you gain your new-found freedom. Now Craig can take a back seat and allow you to be the new designated driver!πŸ˜‰ Will definitely miss our football chats among many other topics! Wishing you the very best in your future driving experiences! Well done again!πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ₯³πŸš—πŸŽ‰

This, unfortunately, is what myself, and my fellow colleagues in the instructor industry are having to deal with on a daily basis. When you are trying your very best to teach pupils the rights and wrongs of driving, to be the best, safest version of themselves.......and then you get these 'loonys' that ruins it for everyone! Seriously, what goes through these people's heads?😠

My congratulations this time goes to Miss Rachel Wang on passing her driving test this morning at Bishopbriggs Driving Test Centre. Belief and confidence are a couple of traits among others that a pupil must have before taking a driving test. If you do not have neither, you'd be best to stay at home! This is were Rachel excelled, well sort of!😜Last minute doubts, questioning even the most minuet of problems, I was surprised Rachel knew how to start the engine!πŸ˜†But all's well ends well and Rachel overcame her nerves to come back with a super pass! Excellent stuff!!πŸ‘

Was a pleasure teaching you Rachel and to aid you in gaining your new found freedom. Any questions in future, you know where to find me. Well done again Rachel!πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ₯³πŸš—πŸŽ‰

"why did the chicken cross the road......?"πŸ˜†πŸ˜† (open for suggestions!! πŸ˜…)

21/03/2026

In my line of work as a driving instructor, I deal with many different situations on a daily basis. Whether it be from unexpected errors from pupils or reacting to driving mistakes with full licensed drivers. Whatever the situation, it will be used as a valuable learning tool that can be elaborated further to aid my pupil's learning development.

In the following short clip, it emphasises the importance of thorough observations at junctions. A 'check, check and check again' approach that should never be underestimated. I would liken it to the way we all cross a road as a pedestrian. Would you be satisfied with having the one, solitary glance both ways before you cross? Would you base your decision to cross the road on that single look? Remember, your life is at stake should the decision go against you!
