What a wonderful start of a week. Fiat Ducato in for a timing belt and Mini engine torn down for a refurbishment after cylinder no1 failure. Turned out that intake valve got bent after valvetronic follower came off. Head going away tomorrow for a rebuild and new complete engine overhaul kit waiting here. Few days and car will be good as new.

Here's a few jobs from last couple of days. Red Astra in for MOT and intermittent clutch fault, turned out to be collapsed release bearing - full kit replaced. Blue Astra in for a service and possible fuel leak. Indeed leak was found at fuel pipe speed fit connector. And the best for the last. Stunning classic Yamaha Vmax in for full power V boost kit to be fitted. In fact we took a part in restoration of this magnificent machine along with G40 CBR Garage at Bridgeton. Bodywork done mostly by us, mechanical part, disassemble and reassemble by G40 CBR.

That's us back after holidays. Refreshed and ready for action. First on the table is Merc E class with transmission problems. Brief checks revealed severe transmission fluid leaks. Step one will be investigate and repair all leaks before further checks. Quite a few other jobs waiting. Looks like it's going to be busy couple weeks ahead.

Jag S type with "christmas tree" on dash caused by faulty ABS module
Peugeot expert van front corner accident damage repaired
Ford C Max with power steering fault needed a new steering rack.

Check your oil level regularly folks. This is how much oil came out from one Toyota today. Normally the pan should be at least half full. Not every motor has oil level sensor. Don't wait till "Aladdin lamp" comes, it may be too late then.
Or wait. We like rebuilding engines 😈

Engine build back together. Starts and runs perfect. Just bodywork left to do.

New timing chain kit and service for this one

They don't make them like they used to. You may think that timing driven with chain will last a lifetime, and here we are. Only 75k miles and chain is on its final breath.

Searching for faulty injector. Engine was idling very rough and smoking when cold. Faulty injector found , replaced and coded in. Purrs like a kitty now.

Last week was extremely intense with lots of overtime. Hardly any time to take some photos and stick them in here. Engine with broken timing torn apart and bits handed over to ingeneers to recondition. A few small and bigger jobs done and almost full yard of cars waiting for parts.
