Manufacturers recommend A/C systems are serviced every 2 years. On average a vehicle looses about 10% of refrigerant gas a year.

What happens during an air con service?
Your vehicle is connected to one of our air conditioning machines. Any remaining refrigerant gas is recovered from the system. System is checked for leaks, if no major leaks are detected refrigerant oil with ultraviolet dye is added (UV dye helps us detect any minor leaks at a later date if required). The system is then refilled with the correct amount / type of refrigerant gas and the operation is tested.

How much does any air con service cost?
Types and quantities of refrigerant gas vary from model to model. Please telephone us with your vehicle registration number to enable us to give you an estimated cost.

Why is an estimated cost given?
Until your vehicle is connected to our air conditioning equipment we will not know how much refrigerant is left in the system. A ‘worst case scenario’ price is given assuming no refrigerant gas is recovered. Price is reduced accordingly once service is complete.

We may not have any cats on our hot tin roof but we do have slowing melting vehicle techs who would appreciate customers dropping cars off earlier than normal (or better still the night before please). Our workshop and tyre bay will be open from 6.30am to 3.45pm this week for anyone else wishing to avail of the slightly cooler morning temperatures!
