In Loving Memory of Edwin Dodd

14th February 1944 – 7th September 2026

With great sadness, we have to announce the peaceful passing of Edwin Dodd, who sadly passed away at home on 7th September 2026, aged 82 years.

Edwin was the devoted and loving husband of Josie, dearly loved father of Graham and Peter, dear Father-in-Law to Alison, cherished grandad to Luke and Matty, and much-loved brother to Irene. He was also a dear brother-in-law to John and uncle to, Stephen and Jonathan.

Edwin was well known as the co-founder of Bridge House Marina & Caravan Park, which he established with his father, Thomas. He had a great love of fishing and shooting, but above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Many will remember Edwin for his famous BBQs, his tall stories and, of course, his usual cheeky sense of humour. He had a wonderful character and a way of making people smile, leaving behind many happy memories for everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Edwin also had a strong sense of civic duty and dedicated many years to serving his local community as a Councillor on Nateby Parish Council.

His passing has left a huge void in the lives of his family and all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by so many.

The family would like to thank everyone for the flowers, cards, messages of sympathy and kind support they have received during this difficult time. It has meant a great deal to them all.

Funeral Details

Edwin’s funeral service will take place at St Mary and St Michael’s Church on:

Thursday 1st October 2026 at 11.00am

Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to The Wyrebank for light refreshments and to continue sharing memories of Edwin.

Family flowers only, please.

Donations, if desired, in memory of Edwin, can be made to support the work of Cancer Research UK and St John’s Hospice, via the funeral director:
