In Loving Memory of Edwin Dodd
14th February 1944 – 7th September 2026

With great sadness, we have been asked to announce the peaceful passing of Edwin Dodd, who sadly passed away at home on 7th September 2026, aged 82 years.

Edwin was the devoted and loving husband of Josie, dearly loved father of Graham and Peter, dear Father-in-Law to Alison, cherished grandad to Luke and Matty, and much-loved brother to Irene. He was also a dear brother-in-law to John and uncle to, Stephen and Jonathan.

Edwin was well known as the co-founder of Bridge House Marina & Caravan Park, which he established with his father, Thomas. He had a great love of fishing and shooting, but above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Many will remember Edwin for his famous BBQs, his tall stories and, of course, his usual cheeky sense of humour. He had a wonderful character and a way of making people smile, leaving behind many happy memories for everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Edwin also had a strong sense of civic duty and dedicated many years to serving his local community as a Councillor on Nateby Parish Council.

His passing has left a huge void in the lives of his family and all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by so many.

The family would like to thank everyone for the flowers, cards, messages of sympathy and kind support they have received during this difficult time. It has meant a great deal to them all.

Edwin’s funeral service will take place at St Mary and St Michael’s Church on Thursday 1st October 2026 at 11.00am, before being laid to rest in the Churchyard.

Following the service, family and friends are warmly invited to The Wyrebank for light refreshments and to continue sharing memories of Edwin.

Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired can be given in memory of Edwin to support the work of Cancer Research UK and St John’s Hospice care of the funeral director.

Rest peacefully, Edwin. You will be greatly missed and forever remembered by those who loved you.

In Loving Memory of Eric Smith
22nd December 1943 – 8th September 2026

We have been asked by the family to announce and share the news, that with a very heavy heart, Eric died peacefully at Royal Preston Hospital on Tuesday 8th September 2026, aged 82 years.

Eric was a dearly loved and loving husband, a much loved dad, a cherished and devoted grandad.

He will be missed more than words can say, and his loving family will treasure all the memories they have forever.

His funeral service will take place at Inskip Baptist Church on Thursday 24th September at 1.30pm, before he is laid to rest in the churchyard. Following the graveside committal, refreshments will be served in the Church Hall where we will continue remembering Eric, sharing stories and memories of a lovely man.

All who knew Eric are more than welcome to attend, to pay your respects and say goodbye.

In Loving Memory of Kenneth Daykin, ‘Ken’
24th December 1930 – 14th August 2026

The dearly loved and loving husband of the late Ruth Daykin. Ken was also a much-loved brother, uncle and cherished friend to many. His warmth, kindness and gentle spirit touched all who knew him, leaving behind memories that will be treasured forever.

A funeral service to celebrate Ken’s life will be held at Lancaster and Morecambe Crematorium on Friday 4th September at 12.30pm.

Family flowers only, please. For those who wish to honour Ken’s memory, donations to the ‘Alzheimer’s Society’ would be greatly appreciated and can be made through the funeral director.

The family of David Briggs have asked us to share the following acknowledgements, with their heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported them during this difficult time.

They would particularly like to thank Clive for his amazing service and our team of funeral staff for providing David with such a dignified and fitting farewell.

Their thanks also go to The Flower Shop for the beautiful floral arrangements and to everyone who sent cards and flowers, shared kind words, and offered their thoughts and condolences.

With sadness, we have been asked to announce and share the news that Sylvia died peacefully at Hillcroft Nursing Home on 9th August 2026, aged 92 years.

Sylvia was the loving wife of the late Peter. She was also a much-loved Mum, cherished Gran and a dear friend to many others.

Sylvia will always be remembered for her warmth, kindness and deep love of her family. Sylvia touched the lives of so many people, especially during her time as a PE and swimming teacher. An active member of Garstang United Reformed Church and Garstang coral society. She will be remembered fondly.

Her funeral service will take place at Beetham Hall Crematorium on Wednesday 2nd September at 12.30pm. Following the service, the family extend a warm invitation to join them at The Wheatsheaf in Beetham to continue celebrating the life of this lovely lady.

In Loving Memory of Isabel Doreen Bingham
1st October 1939 – 3rd August 2026

With great sadness, we share the news that Isabel died peacefully in her sleep at home, with her loving family by her side, on Monday 3rd August. She was 86.

Isabel was the dearly loved and devoted wife of Peter Bingham. A much loved and loving mother to Mark and Debbie, and a cherished grandmother of Holly, Lee, Brogan, Lewis and Scarlett.

Isabel will be sorely missed by us all. She was just the best and has left a huge hole in our hearts

Her funeral service will take place at Beetham Hall Crematorium on Wednesday 12th August at 3.30pm.

Following the service, everyone is warmly invited back to Cockerham Parish Hall for light refreshments and to continue remembering Isabel, celebrating her life and sharing stories and memories.

For those attending the service, please come in black, but with a touch of colour.
