Lovely low owner and low mileage MGB GT finished in gleaming Old English White with contrasting Black leather with red piping interior.
We took this GT from the previous owner who has owned it since 2003 against our stunning MGC GT that we had for sale. This car was the gentleman’s pride and joy, and it really shows. The car has only had 6 owners in 59 years and showing just over a credible 52000 miles. The paintwork and panels are largely original with fantastic panel gaps and seams, in fact it is probably one of the best MGB’s that I have seen for letting the door go and it shuts itself, no slamming involved. The interior again is largely original and showing signs of patina, but I think this adds to the car. The previous owner has added a couple of extra gauges, voltmeter and amp meter to monitor the electrics. The chrome work presents very well with only very minor pitting, certainly not bad enough to warrant re chroming by a long shot. The car also rides on correct factory fitted period painted wire wheels. According to the Heritage Certificate that accompanies the history file, the car is a home market car in original colour and came with the options of wire wheels, Heater and Overdrive gearbox. The car was first registered by Knott Brothers in Bournemouth on 21-04-1967.
The car is mechanically very good having been regularly serviced and MOT’d by a local MG dealer to the previous owner. The car has been fitted with an electronic insert in the original distributor so to avoid any issues with points. It also has a electric Kenlow fan fitted. There is also a tubed system in the boot that can be used to spray WD40 into the sills by using the spare tyre into a container with fluid. This certainly has for sure been very effective.
The paintwork presents very well indeed with only a couple of minor imperfections that certainly do not de tract from the appearance of the car. A Webasto sunroof was fitted by Mrs Tonge, the first registered owner of the car, this is still original and watertight.
On the road the car drives and performs well with the all-important overdrive working correctly. Upon sale the car will receive a service and 12 months MOT (although not necessary due to age).
Viewing is highly recommended.

Lovely example of this popular MGA 1500 sports roadster.
MFO 144 started off life as a North American export in 1958, it was repatriated back into the UK in the early 90’s and registered in 1995, where it has had 6 owners in total since.
Looking through the history file that accompanies the MG there is photographic evidence of a body off restoration which we believe was carried out between 1992 – 1996. We have invoices totalling over £9200 for works carried out so you can tell no expense was spared. Included in the paperwork is an invoice for parts for an engine rebuild in 2011 totalling over £430.
The paintwork presents really well with good depth and shine and no major blemishes to note. The chrome work also presents well with very little pitting or tarnishing. The car also benefits from having a new roof and frame from when it was restored. The correct period painted wire wheels are in fantastic condition also.
Upon opening the door, you are greeted by the lovely as new red leather seats, which look fantastic. New carpets were fitted at time of the restoration and remain as new. All gauges are present and correct and in working order.
On the road the car performs and drives as it should and is a pleasure to drive.
Viewing is highly recommended of this popular British sports roadster.
