SMITHS Engine Services is a mechanical service based in Frome, Somerset providing engine work from services and rebuilds to full race motor building. We offer options such as head porting & gas flowing as well as being able to provide uprated aftermarket engine components. We cater for any engine from any discipline, while we boast a strong connection & great repertoire in motocross, we also work on go karts, minimotos and everything in between.

Ktm 150sx 2018, Ktm 125sx 2022

Hey!, hope your all enjoying the nice weather!,

Two Ktm motors among others in for rebuilds. The 150 is on around 150 or so hours and is tired and main bearings given up and needing a tidy up inside but will be fresh when done, the 125 is on just 20 HOURS, running absolutely perfect just like brand new!, however as the owner doesn’t want ktm’s cop-out cdi unit fitted -2k rev limit to stop their poor choices of metal used I’m told in their con-rods this now needs changing…. Absolutely shocking.

I’ve seen some pictures of these rods breaking and the damage is crazy, don’t zap your power with their recall! Get it done properly as it should of been done.

2015 Ktm 50sx full rebuild
2022 yz250f top end and water pump seals

I’ll be updating what I’ve done later as it’ll be some essay, but I’m sure the pictures speak it.

The Ktm 50sx was impressive!, breaking the big end pin in two and locking the motor up!.

As always I do my best that they look the best as possible:-)

Ktm 250sxf 2007 full restoration massive build.
Ktm 300tpi 2018 full rebuild top to bottom.
Yamaha wr250f 2016, complete top end rebuild inc new camshaft/ followers.
Yamaha yf250f 2022, gearbox rebuild and some head work done plus highcomp piston etc.

A good friend of mines 250 2t TWIN is having some treatment by him!, lucky enough to own two of these they are a thing of beauty and the power they produce and the sound is just absolutely fantastic!…. So much going on inside these engines for everything to work together is insane.
