Some pre-Brecon checks in the workshop next to another Phase 1 being recommissioned currently. Llangcoed Hall north of Brecon was our destination. Great roads and a very comfy, friendly hotel with bags of space and excellent original artwork from the 1930s predominantly.

A satisfying Triumph TR control head refurbishment. The only way to ensure the contacts are good and the indicator self-cancelling functions work is to strip it down and deep clean.

Been meaning to write this ditty for a while now. A combination of rural roads, over politeness (or expectation of thanks?) and modern, overly bright, poorly focused LED headlamps can be a menace for many.

Took a call at 7.30 last night from a guy with a newish Land Rover Discovery. Rear side window was stuck almost down, could I help?
25 minutes later he and his pal rocked up. Within two minutes I had the window closed again and their numerous possessions inside all safe and sound. Looked like they were en route to Glastonbury. Did they buy me a drink? No, never even offered at which point I would have said just help someone forward. No manners, no style, just skimming off the top.
Old car people have more class I generally find.

For sale in Somerset by the owner. I recommissioned this Traveller a few years ago. Absolutely solid and has had little use since. It drives very well. Dry stored.

Morris Minor Traveller finished in Rose taupe, with red interior. The car drives well, it’s got drum brakes all round with a brake servo fitted as well, first gear is a straight cut gear with no synchro, 4 speed manual gearbox.

Almost ten years to the day after starting SC in Frome, I now have a workshop of my own. I’m now based in Coleford, Somerset some 20 minutes from Frome and accessible by leafy A & B back roads. A huge thank you to Karen and Roger for being such brilliant landlords this past decade and Brian Davage for being there with constant support and advice. Another thank you to my customers for their trust and apologies to anyone still waiting while the move took place. It wasn’t plain sailing but I’m up and running at last.

Anyone else had the misfortune to rely on EDF for fitting an electricity meter? Four weeks now and they haven’t even given me an appointment date. Over three hours of call waiting times for three phone calls. Utterly inept, chaotic account handling. And we’re trusting them with a nuclear reactor! Help us!!

Progress apace on the Phase 1 Peerless GT. Correct headlamp shapes reinstated and peripheral repairs mostly completed. The issue of the top wishbones on both sides chafing caused much head scratching but with some 10mm tweaks I think I’ve averted more GRP moulds skullduggery.
