An interesting one…

The owner of this Berlingo reached out as the vehicle was smoking under load, since it had an AdBlue delete elsewhere…

We were told the egr was unplugged as part of that process which was odd 🤔

Checking the codes, there were none for the EGR being unplugged, which raised more concerns on what was done in the software

We pulled the ecu and found it had been tuned, with DPF/EGR/AdBlue solutions but the DPF was still physically in place ❌

Separating the exhaust, we found the cause of the smoke was because the dpf itself had cracked, allowing exhaust gasses to escape past the filter

We reinstated the EGR and DPF in the software as this vehicle needs to be compliant. Recommending a replacement dpf. To which the smoke was also resolved ✅

Roller Team Pegaso 2.3jtd Motorhome in with us for software

Regular followers will know that results of motorhome tuning is very much dependent on how the owner drives

Based on a Fiat Ducato platform, we typically see an additional 30bhp 70+nm on our software ✅

Being a heavy vehicle, its never going to be hot hatch performance but it makes the motorhome that little bit more driveable. Pulling better away from junctions, up hills and better fuel economy when driven sensibly.

A question we get asked a lot…

Do you do warranty work? 🤔

Yes we deal with most warranty companies (not all)

There is an admin charge

This Renault Kadjar came in with a knocking noise and random squeak

The lower ball joint was identified as being excessively worn ❌

The squeak was down to the shock absorber rubbing on the chassis (see pics)

A worn strut top mount was the reason ❌ but what was the cause…

On removal of the shock absorber we found the shock was lacking pressure 👎🏻 causing undue stress on the top mount bushing ❌

A new lower arm, shock absorber and top mount kit resolved these issues ✅

The majority of the cost was covered under warranty ✅

Whilst warranties are good, not all items will be covered and labour rates covered are usually minimal, so you may have to pay towards the total bill

Codes stored for rear right wheel speed ❌

Carrying out our checks, we suspected the ABS sensor itself was the problem…

New sensor fitted and we had a wheel speed reading again ✅

A popular upgrade for older cars when their exhaust needs repaired, upgrading to stainless means this cat back section wont need replaced again ✅

We have had notification this week that the price of stainless has risen again so this could see further increases in exhaust prices 👎🏻 many systems these days are £1700+ easily
