The dust has now settled from the 2026 Isle of Man Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix and it was definately a meeting of two halves for us!

It was a real honour to have the great Michael Dunlop on our pre-1972 Royal Enfield racers in the Historic Junior & Senior Classic TT races. He qualified the 500 in 4th place, but unfortunately retired from 4th at the end of lap 1 in the race, having lost the clutch early on. He still lapped at a very respectable 107.99mph. A combination of poor weather and very minor issues meant that the new build 335cc GP5 never turned a wheel and overall these reasons unfortunately meant that the combination never showed it's true potential. We are hoping to have another collaboration with Michael at the Goodwood Revival in a few week's time, so watch this space!

We had opposite fortune with Ampthill based rider Eddy Wormald on the Flitwick Motorcycles / SMV Yamaha R7, however. In only his second year on the Mountain Course, Eddy finished 2nd and 3rd in the Junior and Sportbike Manx Grand Prix races, as well as having the accolade of being the fastest machine through the Speed Trap every lap of practice and the race! He also achieved further 2nd and 3rd places on his own Supersport machinery in the Supersport and Senior Manx Grand Prix races, lapping at 120.7mph - well done Eddy!

Finally, team patriarch Steve Linsdell returned to the Mountain Course for the first time in 13 years, riding his home built hub-centre steered special for the first time since 2004 as one of only 7 solo riders who were asked to take part in the Classic TT Rewind Parade on Tuesday afternoon - another honour of 2026.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us in the build up and during the 2026 event, including John Mann & Olaug Mann at SMV, Mervyn, Janet Hackett, Jay, Errin, Dave, Rianne de Vos, Gordon, and anyone we've missed - we couldn't go racing without you!

Unfortunately the weather and a few minor issues have led to Michael Dunlop and Eddy Wormald not getting much time on the bikes this week and to the organisers re-jigging the schedule drastically, with the Historic Races being moved being moved forward to today (Saturday) and Monday.

Due to a few minor issues with the 500, Michael is still to turn a wheel on the new build Royal Enfield GP5 for the Historic Junior class, but the plan is to get him out for a lap this morning and if all is well to race it later this afternoon - wish us luck!

Eddy Wormald has qualified 4th for the Sportbike Manx Grand Prix on the Flitwick Motorcycles / SMV Yamaha R7 and is finding his feet after a few setup changes with the bike. He goes in the 1st 3 lap race at 11.45 today and we'll be cheering hin on.

Michael Dunlop has also qualified 4th for the Historic Senior race on the Flitwick / SMV Royal Enfield Bullet, but we hope to get out today for one final lap ahead of the race on Monday.

The Manx Grand Prix and Classic TT has started well for Team Flitwick Motorcycles!

Local Ampthill rider Eddy Wormald has managed 4 laps on our Yamaha R7 Supertwin and is currently sitting 4th fastest at 112.8mph and the fastest of the week through the speed trap at 157.864mph.

The legendary Michael Dunlop got his first lap in on the 500 Enfield Bullet last night, topping the leaderboard at 105.6mph. We have a few minor issues to resolve, but all in all a good start - hopefully the Manx weather plays ball and we get more practice opportunity this afternoon!

MICHAEL DUNLOP TO RIDE TWO FLITWICK MOTORCYCLES /SMV SUPPORTED ROYAL ENFIELDS AT THE 2026 CLASSIC TT

36-time TT winner Michael Dunlop will return to the Historic Senior class for the first time in nine years at this year’s Classic TT, campaigning the 500cc Royal Enfield Bullet, one of the most distinctive machines in the Historic Senior category. Dunlop’s programme with Flitwick Motorcycles/SMV will also extend to the Historic Junior class, where he is set to ride the team’s 335cc Royal Enfield GP5.
