Did you know??

Belisha beacons are indeed iconic features of pedestrian crossings in the UK and other countries with British influence.

It's fascinating to learn about their history and connection to Leslie Hore-Belisha (transport minister ), who introduced them as a safety measure in 1934.

The distinctive black and white stripes of zebra crossings have become a recognizable symbol of pedestrian safety

🚦 Stopped at a Red Light? Stay Put! 🚦

Emergency vehicles will find a way around stationary traffic if safe. If our crews consider it unsafe to pass, they will remain a safe distance behind the queue, turn sirens off (but keep lights on), and wait until they can proceed safely.

If an emergency vehicle is behind you at a red light, do not cross the white line — this is a traffic offence. Our crews will find a way around stationary traffic if safe, which may include using oncoming lanes or a filter lane. If you're first in the queue, remain where you are until the light turns green or until the emergency vehicle has safely passed.

If our crews consider it unsafe to pass, they will remain a safe distance behind the queue, turn their sirens off (but keep lights on), and wait until they can proceed safely.

Many congratulations on Elliejae passing today with one driving fault

Elliejae had around 30hrs, nervous to start with but got her test ready she failed the previous test because of her nerves getting the best of her and make an unfortunate mistake. Passed today with 1 minor just touching the kerb on her parallel park.
