Please join us in congratulating Evie!

Evie passed her practical driving test earlier this afternoon in Farnborough, and what a result!

Not only was this Evie’s first attempt, but she also passed with ZERO driving faults! An absolutely amazing achievement and a fantastic outcome to celebrate!

We’d also like to give a huge shout out to her instructor, Brent, who has had an incredible couple of days.

Two students, two days, two first time passes and ZERO driving faults between them!

Brilliant work, Brent! You must be over the moon, and rightly so!

Well done, Evie. Enjoy your newfound freedom, drive safely, and here’s to many happy miles ahead!

Is this really the answer to rising fuel prices?

Apparently, from today, Google Maps will show us the cheapest petrol and diesel nearby.

Great.

Of course, saving a few pounds where we can is always welcome.

But let's be honest...

When petrol is around £1.75 a litre and diesel has hit £2 a litre, telling people where they can find the cheapest pump doesn't really address the problem.

For millions of people, a car isn't a luxury.

It's how they get to work.
It's how they get their children to school.
It's how they get to appointments.
It's how businesses get around.
It's how self-employed people earn a living.

And yes, that includes driving instructors.

We can't simply decide not to use the car because fuel has become too expensive. We have to keep driving.

But I'd much rather see serious action to make fuel more affordable in the first place.

Because "here's where you can buy it cheapest" isn't quite the same as making it affordable.

A huge congratulations to Jedd, who passed his practical driving test today in Farnborough with just 1 driving fault!

This was Jedd's first test with Turning Point and Jan, having previously taken his test three years ago, and what a result!

And there's a lovely bit of history here too...I taught Jedd's brother last year, so it's fantastic to now see Jedd joining the Turning Point pass list.

But perhaps the best part of this story is what happened next…

Jedd passed his test and then drove straight off to Exeter University!

He's already got plenty of experience on two wheels with his motorbike and knows the route, but setting off on that journey immediately after passing certainly takes some confidence!

Please join us in congratulating Sam on passing his driving test at the first attempt, and in his own car!

It’s been great watching Sam’s confidence and driving develop throughout his lessons, and we’ve had some seriously enjoyable drives along the way. The lessons were always good fun, with just the right amount of banter.

Today all the hard work paid off, and Sam can now enjoy the freedom that comes with passing his test.

Congratulations Sam, well deserved!
