Another reminder that a simple oil change should be the first priority in everyones maintenance schedule.

This BMW X5 has the renown N57D30 engine which is a Diesel Straight 6 powerhouse, it is capable of putting out 4 figure torque numbers, but not without frequent servicing.

This one in particular was burning so much oil due to piston ring failure that the valve ports were restricted down to an almost 10mm opening from all the carbon buildup.

Another informational post for every Golf R, S3 or 8V RS3 Owner out there.

This short video shows how unreliable Haldex units can be in the cars mentioned above, the chunks you see are pieces of friction material from the Haldex Clutchpack and shavings from the bearings inside. This car has only done 40K miles with regular maintenance.

If you want to rest easy, it is recommended that you get your Haldex Pump checked out immediately to avoid potential catastrophic failure.

Honda knew they made an amazing machine with this.
The S2000, a rear wheel drive 8900rpm redline 2.0 Naturally Aspirated monster which puts out 240bhp. But even this beast needs it’s oil changes, even more than your average daily driver. But of-course we serviced it because theres nothing we cant do.
