💧 Honda Civic EP3 coolant leak repair 💧

This EP3 Civic came into us with a major coolant leak and overheating concerns ⚠️

After pressure testing and inspection, we traced the issue back to a failed thermostat housing area which required further strip down to access correctly.

On these engines, access isn’t always straightforward — the intake manifold had to be removed to carry out the repair properly 👨‍🔧

So we carried out:

✅ Intake manifold removal
✅ Thermostat replacement
✅ Filled with fresh coolant and bled
✅ Pressure tested and road tested

A coolant leak left too long can quickly lead to overheating and serious engine damage, so it’s always best to get these issues checked early 👍

⚙️ Volkswagen DSG gearbox service ⚙️

This VW came in to us for a DSG gearbox service to help keep the transmission operating smoothly and reliably 👨‍🔧

A lot of customers don’t realise that automatic gearboxes — especially DSG transmissions — require fairly frequent servicing just like the engine does.

Over time the gearbox oil and filter become contaminated, which can affect shift quality and long term reliability if ignored ⚠️

So we carried out:

✅ DSG gearbox oil replacement
✅ New DSG gearbox filter fitted
✅ Gearbox refilled to correct specification
✅ Service logged onto the digital service record
✅ Gearbox operation checked and tested

⚠️ Mercedes CLA180 engine management light diagnosis ⚠️

This Mercedes CLA180 came to us with the engine management light illuminated and reduced performance complaints 👀

Initial diagnostics revealed underboost fault codes stored within the engine control unit.

After carrying out further testing and inspection, we traced the issue to a failed diaphragm inside the turbo actuator ❌

A faulty actuator can prevent the turbo from operating correctly, leading to poor boost control and lack of performance.

So we carried out:

✅ Full diagnostic testing
✅ Turbo actuator fault diagnosis
✅ Turbocharger rebuilt and refitted
✅ System tested and boost operation verified
✅ Fault codes cleared and road tested

Correct diagnosis is key — replacing complete turbochargers unnecessarily can become very expensive very quickly 👨‍🔧

Now repaired and back to full performance 👍

⚠️ Ford Ka timing belt replacement ⚠️

This Ford Ka came in to us for a routine service, but during inspection we noticed there was no history of the timing belt ever being replaced 👀

After checking the belt condition, it was clear it was heavily perished and well overdue for replacement.

Timing belts aren’t something to ignore — if they fail, the damage can be catastrophic for the engine 💥

So we carried out:

✅ Timing belt replacement
✅ New tensioners fitted
✅ Full timing setup checked and locked correctly
✅ Vehicle inspected and reassembled

Preventative maintenance is ALWAYS cheaper than engine repairs 👨‍🔧

💧 Mercedes C220d major oil leak repairs 💧

This Mercedes C220d came to us suffering from multiple serious oil leaks, with the underside of the vehicle completely covered in engine oil 👇

Upon inspection we found leaks coming from:

❌ Lower sump
❌ Front crankshaft oil seal
❌ Oil cooler assembly

The leaks had spread oil across the steering and suspension components underneath the vehicle, making for a substantial clean up job as well as the repairs themselves.

To carry out the repairs correctly, extensive dismantling was required including front subframe removal 👨‍🔧

✅ Front subframe removed
✅ Genuine Mercedes lower sump replaced
✅ Front crankshaft seal replaced
✅ Oil cooler replaced
✅ Underside cleaned of excess oil contamination
✅ Vehicle reassembled and leak tested

Modern vehicles often require major disassembly just to access relatively small components properly — which is exactly why accurate diagnosis and correct repair procedures matter.

Now repaired, cleaned and back on the road leak free 👍

🚨 VW Golf timing belt repair completed 🚨

After another garage fitted a timing belt just weeks ago, this Golf ended up with the engine mount failing and jamming into the timing belt 😳

Thankfully the engine was still in time — but it could’ve been a LOT worse.

So we carried out the repair properly 👨‍🔧

✅ Genuine timing belt kit fitted
✅ New engine mounts fitted
✅ New timing covers fitted
✅ All new bolts installed
✅ Everything torqued to factory specification

This is exactly why correct procedures and torque settings matter on modern engines ⚠️

Now repaired properly and back on the road 👍

Customer came to us after noticing serious knocking and movement from the engine… and then it no longer ran 👀

This VW Golf had a timing belt fitted by another garage just 3 weeks ago 👇

❌ Engine mount bolts loose/missing/sheered off
❌ Mount JAMMED into timing belt

This is exactly why correct procedures and torque settings matter ⚠️

Thankfully the engine is still in time, so a new belt kit and engine mount/bolts is all this one needs but it could have been SO much worse!
