A LITTLE BIT OF JUSTICE.........please read.

A number of customers and local people will remember the issues we experienced surrounding a business trading under the very similar name South Coast Mobile Mechanics Ltd.
For a long time, this caused genuine confusion between that company and our own established business, South Coast Mobile Mechanic.
Dorset Council has now published the outcome of the case involving Mark Douglas Lowe, who traded under a number of mobile mechanic business names, including South Coast Mobile Mechanics Ltd.
He has now been sentenced to 2 years and 3 months in prison following an investigation involving 20 victims across 10 counties.
We’re sharing this simply because, over the years, we have had customers contact us believing we were connected with that company, when we never were.
South Coast Mobile Mechanic is, and always has been, a completely separate independent business. We are extremely grateful to the customers who continued to support us and who took the time to understand the distinction when the confusion arose.
Hopefully this official outcome finally draws a line under what was a very frustrating chapter for us and, more importantly, brings some closure to the customers who lost money.

A massive thank you to Jon at Pooch Patrol Whiteley for looking after Angus, Dutchess and Lamai while we’ve been away on holiday! 🐶❤️

Knowing the three of them were being walked every day and were in safe, familiar hands meant we could actually relax and enjoy our time away without worrying about them.

With our lot, it’s not always as simple as clipping on a lead and heading out the door 😂 so having someone reliable, experienced and genuinely good with dogs makes a huge difference.

Thanks again Jon for taking such good care of Angus, Dutchess and Lamai for us. It’s hugely appreciated and I’d happily recommend Pooch Patrol Whiteley to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their dogs.

MOT advisory repairs completed on this lovely Audi TT today.

The work included:

✅ Front coil springs
✅ Rear coil springs and shock absorbers
✅ Front outer CV boot

All carried out at the customer’s home, saving them the hassle of taking the car to a garage.

Noisy Front Wheel Bearing Replaced on a Peugeot 2008

This Peugeot 2008 had developed a noisy front wheel bearing, which was becoming increasingly noticeable while driving.

I replaced the faulty front wheel bearing at the customer’s home address, saving them the inconvenience of arranging transport to and from a garage.

Another repair completed on the driveway and the vehicle back on the road.

Clutch Pedal Sticking on a 2021 SEAT Leon

The customer reported that the clutch pedal had started sticking and had previously taken the vehicle to a local garage for diagnosis.

Following their findings, I was asked to replace the clutch master cylinder on this 2021 SEAT Leon.

The repair was completed at the customer’s home, saving them the inconvenience of arranging transport to and from a garage.

Another job completed on the driveway and the vehicle back in working order.

🚨 SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT FOUND DURING ROUTINE TIMING BELT REPLACEMENT 🚨

This morning’s job was a timing belt, water pump and auxiliary belt replacement on this Citroën Berlingo.

This is normally a fairly routine maintenance job, with the timing belt due every 10 years or 112,500 miles, whichever comes first.

However, while working on the vehicle, I discovered a potentially serious safety issue. One of the bolts securing the front subframe to the chassis had worked itself loose and was extremely close to falling out completely.

Judging by the corrosion on the exposed section of the bolt, it appeared to have been hanging out for some time.

Fortunately, I was able to remove the bolt, clean it and secure it correctly, making the vehicle considerably safer.

I’m very glad this was spotted when it was, as the consequences of a subframe mounting bolt coming out could have been extremely serious.

It’s a good reminder that even during routine maintenance, a thorough inspection can uncover dangerous faults before they become a much bigger problem.

🔧 Nissan Qashqai Repairs 🔧

This Nissan Qashqai was booked in for a nearside inner CV boot replacement and an offside front wheel bearing replacement.

During the wheel bearing job, the wheel speed sensor was found to be completely seized in place and unfortunately snapped during removal. The retaining bolt then also snapped, meaning it had to be carefully drilled out and the thread repaired with a Helicoil before a new sensor could be fitted.

A straightforward repair that decided to put up a bit of a fight, but everything was completed correctly at the customer’s location.

🔧 Towbar Installation Completed Today! 🚗

Another happy customer! Today I supplied and fitted a swan neck towbar with 7-pin electrics to this Nissan Qashqai, all completed at the customer’s place of work.

One of the biggest advantages of using a mobile mechanic is convenience. The customer was able to carry on with their working day while I completed the installation on-site, meaning minimal downtime and no need to arrange lifts or take time off work.

✅ 7-pin electrics professionally installed and tested
✅ Work carried out at the customer’s workplace
✅ Convenient mobile service with minimal disruption

The day was made even better by a surprise visit from Mrs South Coast Mobile Mechanic, who turned up with a much-needed banana milkshake and cake to keep me going in the 30+°C heat! I definitely think every mobile mechanic should have their own support crew! 😄☀️
