Kantara has been in the same hands since 1998. Think about that for a moment.
Nearly three decades with one owner, maintained and upgraded for continued cruising rather than polished up for a quick resale. Built in 1993 to the Holman & Pye design, she has the proper Oyster owner’s layout, a protected centre cockpit, huge tankage and the equipment to disappear offshore for a very long time. There is something reassuring about buying a yacht whose history is not a mystery. Kantara has already had a life of serious cruising. She is ready for the next one.

She was designed by Laurent Giles, inspired by the Riva Aquarama and built by Jonathan Leech in 1992. More than thirty years later, she still has that rare ability to make people stop and look.

A little look back at one of our favourite Falmouth fixtures from the summer. Whimsey V5 during the 2026 Sunbeam Championships at Royal Cornwall Yacht Club.

There is something timeless about Sunbeam racing. Beautiful boats, close competition and a class that still feels completely at home in Falmouth Bay.

Whimsey finished 5th overall across the nine-race championship, rounding out another memorable few days on the water. One to look forward to again next year.
