Big step forwards today, my chassis has returned from blast cleaning. Now i have to paint it. Had a great bunch of friends turn up to help with it today.
A few weeks back I went on another road trip to source parts, got some more wheels, a recored radiator and a rebuilt carb and air intake as well as some good rear springs which has been a bit of a relief.
Im looking forward to start being able to bolt things back onto the chassis and get it rolling.
There's a lot left to do though and a lot of parts left to find.

Another update, moved all the last parts back home, starting to strip the last few bits off the old scrap cab and cleaned up the front propshaft.
Started to replace the chopped off wheel stud after seeking advice on how the heck to get it out.
The chassis has been picked up to go off to be shotblasted and finally the tyres have been separated from the rims not by me as i chickened out of that job, hopefully they aren't too rusty but shotblasting will reveal whether i need to find more rims.
In a few weeks im off on a cross country road trip to pick up parts so if you have anything kicking about do let me know and I might come buy it.

Its been a long time since I updated here and lots to update, first off I got an amazing bunch of parts and most importantly a very nice cab, the chassis has had lots of repairs thanks to J Morgan Hannell who is also repairing a bunch of other part for me too.
What inspired an update was the success today of finally freeing off the engine which im hugely relieved at. Now just to get a few more service items for it and get it on the workbench to get it running.
Hopefully things should progress a bit quicker now as im coming to the end of a huge work project and have some free time over winter to get cracking.
Just an ask on the off chance if anyone has some good wings it would save me a lot of work..
Also i have one very rusty cab potentially available if anyone is interested.

Managed to get a bit more done front axle removed and side steps, chassis is nearly completely stripped lots of fire and hitting things and multiple angle grinders helped. Spent some time searching for parts,if anyone has any spares let me know!

Today was a momentous day! Cab off and engine out, had a few interesting moments like towing the engine crane and a small fire!
We started off by building a wooden structure around/through the cab to support it, managed to fully seperate the cab and chassis with a very helpful angle grinder to chop through wires and pipes!
We then dropped the chassis down from it's blocked up position which gave plenty of space to shuffle the cab backwards.

In the meantime i spent some time on the rear axle trying to get the springs off, one was removed with the help of fire but the other refuses, I have a large industrial impact socket driver on the way so that should help matters but also invested in a nut splitter just incase.

Back to the engine and as my mate Jesse undid all the mounting bolts we rigged up the crane and hoped for the best, it went surprisingly well for such a ridiculous size engine.

And so now she sits there in an ever increasing pile of parts and rust but soon we can start repairs!

With some unexpected time free I managed to do a fair bit in just a few hours, started by jacking up the front end to remove the wheels.
In turn that provided access to get off the other wing.
After that the grill and radiator assembly was soon parted, followed by the steering assembly.
The cab mounting bolts proved relatively easy to get off which leaves just the wiring to detach for the cab to be removed.
It looks a sorry state but its not actually that bad!
Next adventure is to move the cab backwards pull the engine out then pull the cab off the chassis that should go smoothly there is a plan...

Today's fun, was to remove the rear axle, easier said than done, propshaft didnt put up too much of a fight but the rest of it did.
Used an engine crane and a jack to lift the back end and chocked it up.
Wheels off next and the right side was a breeze the left hand side though wouldn't budge and I had to rope in a friendly local mechanic with an industrial impact socket driver to undo those wheel nuts, interestingly the left and right side have opposite thread locks on the wheel nuts.

Next up was dropping the axle, held on with pins and clamp bolts, a brass swage and a big hammer soon saw them knocked out and we were able to drop the axle without too much hassle.

Next mission is taking off the front wheels, the remaining wing and starting to take off the cab.

Yesterday I got started, and figured a good place to start was the front bumper. No chance of undoing any of the rusty bolts so it was angle grinder time. Took about an hour to awkwardly chop through the bolts.
Next up with the bumper is to repair it, make the new valance section and get it shot blasted.
