What a brilliant turn out this morning at Falmouth docks, supporting maintenance dredging in Falmouth.
Because Falmouth’s history is deeply tied to the sea, maintenance dredging in Falmouth Harbour is crucial to securing local marine economy as it is in every port around the world. Dredging in Falmouth is beneficial as it gives job opportunities to hundreds of locals, a gateway to the green energy sector for floating offshore wind hubs and a boost to the local economy. As someone who has lived in Falmouth their entire life, I believe this investment into our town is what must happen to keep Falmouth the busy, deep-water port it always has been known for globally.
The regeneration of the dockyard is imperative and over recent years many areas have fallen into disrepair, we should be supporting Falmouth Docks and allowing maintenance dredging to continue to reinstate the wharves.
