One of today’s jobs was a vehicle that had developed a loud noise while running, with smoke entering the cabin.

Upon inspection, we found that the glow plug on cylinder 3 had blown out. After speaking with the customer, we discovered that the glow plugs had been replaced earlier this year.

Fortunately, the threads in the engine were undamaged. We fitted a new glow plug, tightened it to the correct torque specification, and left the vehicle running for several hours to ensure everything was operating as it should.

Happy to report the repair was successful, and the car is now running perfectly again. 👍🚗

Have you had an oil warning light come on? Is your timing belt overdue for replacement, or would you simply like the peace of mind of having it checked?

At Shaun’s Garage, we carry out wet belt replacements and, where fitted, we also replace the oil pump belt at the same time.

Some wet belts can be inspected for early signs of deterioration, including cracking, swelling, and contamination. Catching these issues early can help prevent costly engine damage.
