Team Hadfield Motorsport Trophy Race – A Weekend to Remember
Well… we did it!
Our very first Team Hadfield Motorsport Trophy Race went off without a hitch.
The fun started the night before with a BBQ and games night. The atmosphere was buzzing in the gorgeous May sunshine, and the party carried on well into the night.
Sunday morning arrived and all the cars made it through scrutineering before the final checks were completed ahead of qualifying at the picturesque Mallory Park Circuit.
As the session got underway, everyone quickly got to grips with the track and the lap times started tumbling. After 15 minutes, the grid was set for Race One.
Iain Blackley put his rapid turbocharged Class A car on pole position. Alongside him, with the standout performance of qualifying, was Matt Everatt, who put his Class B Puma on the front row next to Iain.
Kevan Hadfield lined up on the second row in his Class A Puma alongside Jon Glover in Class A. Behind them were the Class B cars of Mark Chappell and Marcus Williams.
During qualifying, smoke was reported coming from the front wheel of Kevan’s car. Thankfully, it turned out to be a split driveshaft gaiter, so after a quick driveshaft swap, everyone was ready for the race.
When the lights went out, all drivers made a clean start, with Iain taking the lead into the first corner. Kevan passed Matt early on and settled into second, while the rest of the field stayed tightly packed behind.
There were fantastic battles throughout the field and it was brilliant to watch the Pumas putting on such a great show.
The chequered flag eventually dropped with Iain taking a clear victory. Jon made a late move on Kevan with just two laps remaining to grab second overall — much to his excitement as he passed the pit wall! Matt drove faultlessly to take the Class B win.
After Marcus passed Mark on the opening lap, Mark eventually reclaimed the position with a brilliant move into the hairpin. Despite the heat, every car ran flawlessly and everyone involved had an amazing time.

With Race One complete, all the cars were checked over and prepared for Race Two, while the paddock atmosphere stayed alive with plenty of banter flying around between drivers, families, and friends. There were also a LOT of ice creams consumed 🤣
Race Two once again saw a clean getaway for all drivers, and the battles started immediately.
Iain made another superb start, while Kevan managed to jump ahead of Jon into second place. However, Jon gradually reeled Kevan back in before making a move for P2.
Having only recently had the car built by us at Team Hadfield Motorsport, Jon became more and more comfortable as the race went on. He produced a stunning lap in the 54s 👏 to secure second overall behind our well-deserved double winner, Iain.
In Class B, Marcus took the lead on the opening lap and delivered a faultless drive to claim the class victory.
Behind him, Mark and Matt were locked in an epic battle for second place. Eventually, Mark pulled off another one of his trademark moves into the hairpin to take the position and managed to hold on despite relentless pressure from Matt.
