Exeter Cruises Scenic boat trips from Exeter Quay to Double Locks Pub, with Pedalos & Row boats for hire in a supervised area of the river Exe.

We also operate one of the few remaining hand operated pull ferrys ‘Butts Ferry’ on Exeter’s main Quay. Enjoy a scenic cruise along Exeter's historic canal. 50 minute round trip or stop for lunch at a great family pub and return on a later boat. Daily service during June, July and August. Weekends and Bank Holidays only during April, May and September. Private hire available during daytime and evenings to suit all types of events including weddings, stag/hen nights, birthdays and work functions. We also offer pedalo hire and operate Butts Ferry, the oldest pull ferry in Britain.

Butts Ferry will be open on Saturday 19th with an event on the quay to promote awareness for the lowering Salmon numbers running historically on the river Exe
Business as usual Sunday 20th.

All the dates above apply to our pedalos & row boats which available to rent in a supervised area of the river Exe from 10.30-5pm - £15 per boat for 30 minute sessions, or £7.50 for 15 minute sessions.

Southern Comfort only operating at weekends throughout September. It will not be open this Saturday 5th, but will be open Sunday 6th.

Butts Ferry will be open on Saturday 5th & 6th September (and weekends of September) along with our pedalos & row boats which available to rent in a supervised area of the river Exe from 11.00-5pm - £15 per boat for 30 minute sessions, or £7.50 for 15 minute sessions.

Southern Comfort will be open tomorrow! Very happy to finally be able to post that after the couple of weeks of engine woes.
Running from the river Exe to Double Locks, first trip is at 11:30. See you there ❤️

It is with great frustration and disappointment that we are not able to operate Southern Comfort today.
Whilst trying to mitigate the emissions the engine is creating it is in the best interest for all river users, customers, staff and the local wildlife to not operate until we can get this to an acceptable level.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Our small independent business rely’s heavily on tourism and a busy summer school holiday period, so we are acting as fast as we can to solve the issue.

Next Tuesday Exeter Cruises will be hosting a little event in the evening the ‘Funder Games’ where teams will ‘race’ our row boats on a short section of the river Exe by Butts Ferry. 6pm-8pm.
Raising money for Hospice care, be great to have people down there cheering them on and raising money for a very just cause x 🛶🏁
