Picture of the day, nothing special but a nice result. vehicle was recovered into us, running badly, stalling, bad or non starting. it came with another set of carbs and manifold in the boot for us to fit as all the internet experts had said later HIF6 carbs are so much better, it was also suggested it would need new ht leads (it didnt) . we fitted a new set of plugs, i repaired the distributor base plate, fitted a working vac advance module and set the ignition timing which was ridiculously over advanced, it then drove much better, setting up the mixtures, idles and fast idles, and it got even better, now driving really well, the owner was amazed at the difference, and those HIF6 carbs? still in the boot!

with jobs like this it always makes me think, surely whoever was last in the fiddling realized they were making it worse? and would of stopped, rather than making even more adjustments and it even
more wrong??

A small up date on my P6, i know the purists wont like it, but i found i really didnt like steering my car with what feels like a Hula hoop in comparison to my daily driver
so ive swapped my steering wheel, still looks Roverish i think, and feels much nicer in use

Theres still a few jobs to do and lots of cleaning, but my own personal P6 is ready for when lockdowns over. The rusty panels have gone, Its tired Richelieu Red paint now shines, the scruffy Sandlewood boxplete seats made way for a smart black leather set. the BW 65 autobox has made way for a 5 speed LT77, The engines gained a new waterpump and set of hoses. The front bumper is a new stainless one, and in case your wondering i deliberately left the overriders off, i think it looks neater and less fussy without, just like the early S1 tail lights we fitted. There are still a few jobs in the pipeline, some gaz adjustable shocks to compliment the uprated anti roll bar thats fitted, a 4 barrel carb is somewhere in the pipeline and i have a 4.6 engine waiting in the wings, but they can all wait, i just look forwards to using it again.
