Tread depth, look for even wear across the tyre and make sure it's above the legal minimum.

Sidewall condition, check for cracks, bulges or cuts.

Tyre pressure, under or over inflated tyres wear unevenly and affect handling.

Age, tyres over 6 years old should be inspected even if the tread looks fine.
