🏖️The great summer escape begins today! ☀️

But did you know that this summer there are a series of weekend closures of the M3 junction 9 roundabout and several connecting roads?

*The M3 will remain open but the J9 entry and exit slip roads will be closed*.

Weekend closure dates:

🚗 9pm Friday 31 July to 6am on Monday 3 August

🚗 9pm Friday 21 August to 6am on Monday 24 August

🚗 9pm Friday 11 September to 6am on Monday 14 September

Weekend closure details/locations:

➡️ A34 southbound will be closed from Bullington Cross

➡️ A34 northbound will be closed to Three Maids Hill, also closing the A33 northbound

➡️ A33 southbound will be closed from the Cart and Horses junction

➡️ Easton Lane will be closed both north and southbound at the Easton Lane Roundabout

➡️ A272 will be closed both northbound and southbound from the Spitfire roundabout (A31)

➡️ M3 junction 9 entry and exit slip roads will be closed both northbound and southbound

➡️ M3 junction 9 northbound entry slip road will remain closed from 9pm Friday 31 July 2026 until winter 2027

We will announce further details of the first of these closures very shortly. After that we will publish details of each closure in turn.

💔 Alan Titchmarsh has admitted that he sobbed when he had to say goodbye to his beloved garden after 23 years of looking after it.

The much-loved broadcasting veteran has revealed he is moving out of his historic home in Holybourne, near Alton, because the upkeep of the land has become too burdensome as he gets older.

He and his wife Alison purchased the property back in 2002 and put it on the market in September for £3.95 million.

🏡 Over nearly a quarter of a century, he slowly transformed the grounds to include a formal area close to the house, a wildlife pond, a meadow, a copse, and a rill.

But he admits that managing even a small workforce to maintain the picturesque plot has become a heavy responsibility.

He says he still thinks of himself as being in his "fortysomething" years and remains hale and hearty for the time being.

Yet he believes it is best to walk away from the home while the choice is still entirely his own, rather than waiting to be forced out by circumstances beyond his control.

The estate has huge sentimental value for the family, having served as the backdrop where his two daughters grew up and where his grandchildren played. ❤️

The couple are now preparing to move into a much smaller, modern property nearby that is set within one and a half acres of land.

Are you familiar with the new rules for car driving test bookings? 🤔

📅 Test changes are now limited to 2 per booking.

🔄️ Only learners can book, change or cancel their own test.

📍 Test moves are limited to one of the 3 nearest centres.

By introducing these new rules, we’re aiming to reduce the reselling of tests, create a level playing field for all learner drivers and give them more control over their learning to drive journey. 💪

Booking your driving test? Make sure you’re doing it the right way. ✅

Since 12 May, it has been against the law for anyone but the learner driver to book a driving test. Using unofficial apps, bots or automated tools also breaks the terms and conditions of our booking service.

We've already cancelled 450 tests where tests have been booked outside the new rules – and we're continuing to monitor activity closely. 💪

If misuse of the booking system is identified, we can cancel your booking and suspend your ability to manage your test online.

Our priority is to make the system fair for every learner and to stop you being exploited by third parties. The only way to book and manage a test is through GOV.UK. 💻
