Vehicle Paint Technician / Spray Painter

Location: Fix Auto Elgin

Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Earnings: Top Rates of Pay + Bonus Scheme + Overtime Available

Fix Auto Elgin is looking for an experienced, detail oriented Vehicle Paint Technician / Spray Painter to join our busy accident repair centre.

If you take pride in producing flawless finishes, working in a modern paint booth setup, and maximizing your earning potential, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
Execute high-standard paint prep, sanding, priming, masking, and colour blending.

Utilize computerized colour-matching and mixing systems for precise shade matching.

Apply basecoats and clearcoats efficiently across a variety of vehicle makes and models.

Inspect finished bodywork to ensure strict quality standards and zero defect targets.

Maintain clean, compliant, and safe paint booth and mixing room environments.

Key Requirements
Proven experience as a Vehicle Paint Technician / Spray Painter within a body shop/collision environment.

ATA / IMI accreditation or relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification preferred (experienced time-served candidates are strongly encouraged to apply).

Sharp eye for detail, colour matching, and flawless finishing.

Valid UK Driving Licence.

🚗 About the Role

We are currently looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Vehicle Mechanic to join our busy team at Ashgrove Motor Body Company (Elgin) Ltd.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, reputable body shop where quality workmanship and efficiency are key.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

Carrying out general mechanical repairs and servicing

Diagnostics and fault finding

Tyre fitting and wheel balancing

Alloy wheel refurbishments

ADAS calibrations

Supporting workshop operations to ensure vehicles are completed safely and to a high standard

Maintaining a clean and organised work environment

✅ The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

Experience in tyre fitting and wheel refurbishments (preferred but not essential)

ADAS calibration experience (training can be provided for the right candidate)

A full UK driving licence

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

A strong work ethic and attention to detail
