Buckle up! This is one hefty project we undertook.
This Aston Martin came to us in a very sad state, not structurally sound in any way, shape or form! 😳
The rear axle was being held on by a thread of remaining good metal...
Someone had previously done various patch repairs and covered over the corrosion, which had then just eaten deep into the chassis.
This made it a mammoth task for us, but we cracked on with fully stripping it down, full interior removal and a temporary space frame was created to maintain structural strength to avoid any body twisting or movement.
Once the space frame was installed, we could start with removing the affected areas... and there was A LOT! 😬
We sorted all new rear arches, rear axle mounts, chassis mounts, floor sections, jacking sections, inner and outer sills.
We did a full treatment to all areas, including installations of all new pre-fabricated sections, seam welded in. All sill spots were welded as per factory specification and more!
Once we completed the welding work, the whole chassis was primed and coated inside and out for maximum protection. Finally, lower aluminium wing sections were tig seam welded and modified to fit properly.
Then off to the paintshop for both sides to be colour matched and painted like new!
