Track work party on both Saturday and Sunday 10am till 1ish on Saturday and 10am to 4.30 on Sunday. Plenty of jobs for everyone and all help from volunteers very much appreciated. Let's get ready to RACE! Sunday we should have some food too!

Getting ready to race outdoors again! Yippee! Today we were doing a quick half day of maintenance at the track with all the track markings moved, drainage improved at the bottom of the straight and a load of prep ready for our weekend of maintenance next weekend.🪓🪚🔨⛏️🪏

Thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped out 👏🙏 If you are considering getting involved in the club, we would appreciate anything you can do to lend a hand next weekend. Will post up about the times and jobs we have to do later on. Can't wait to get racing! ❤️

Hey Racers!

The SORS organising committee is pleased to announce the dates of the Scottish BRCA Regional Series for 2026! Thanks to Dumfries Model Car Club, Glasgow Model Car Club and Stonehaven and District Radio Car Club (SDRCC) for hosting us this year.

Entries will open in mid March and the rules for the upcoming season will follow in the next few weeks. The inevitable discussion regarding tyres, entry fees and scoring is still to come, so please bear with us and they will be announced once they have been agreed.

Looking to buy an RC car to race? Here are a few recommendations if you want to buy something new this Christmas.

Here are some recommendations of 'Ready To Run' (already built).

- Losi MicroB is all you need to get racing indoors on a budget. Approx £100

- Team Associated RB10. A solid 2wd race buggy. Requires a hard case battery and charger. Approx £230 or around £300 if with a hardcase battery and charger. We are possibly looking at running a race series outdoors with these for newer racers.

- FTX Vantage Brushless. A well loved 4wd buggy suitable for bashing or even a bit of racing on the track. Approx £200 with a hardcase battery and charger.

Get them locally from Uddingston Model Centre, or buy online at MBModels, Modelsport or similar shops.

Don't forget our club shop, Atomfire Models which is more targeted at the racer and also supports our club financially - which is very much appreciated ♥️. They have lots of goodies including vouchers and also give great advice if you are looking at racing.

After a successful trial at an indoor venue moving forward we can announce an official Glasgow indoor RC venue in East Kilbride.

These little cars are so much fun - racing at low cost and ideal way to start racing. We will be running MicroB class racing on the following dates:-

2025: 07/12, 28/12 (all 10am – 5pm)
2026: 04/01, 25/01, 01/02, 22/02, 01/03, 08/03 (all 10am – 5pm)
