We’ve come to an important milestone on our recommissioning project of this exquisite Jaguar XK150 S

The team have been hard at work bringing this big cat back to life after long term storage. It is now in the road testing phases as we work towards hand over to the owner.

We undertake thorough road testing of all cars ensuring that the vehicles we work on are ready for their owners to enjoy with confidence and reliability.

One of the rarest iterations of the XK series, this 1958 3.4l “S” features triple SU HD8 Carburettors making it one of the more powerful variants of the era. We think it represents the best of 1950s design, style and engineering excellence.

Looking back at last Sunday’s fantastic

This is the first show the team have sponsored and they were thrilled to be there. The show celebrated cars released in 1966 so we brought a trio of 60s icons to show in the inner garden including:

A 1966 Ford Mustang with a newly rebuilt 289 V8 engine, refreshed gearbox and painted engine bay.
Our centrepiece was the 1966 GT40 replica that truly wowed the crowd and a 1968 Mercedes Benz 250 SL “Pagoda” bringing refined elegance to the trio.

Friends of Historic Motorworks and .londoncarclub brought along some interesting classics to present on the north entrance to Bedford Square Gardens with our Caddilac Coupe De Ville making quite the statement outside of the show entrance.

Thank you to Darren and his Team for organising this glamorous, relaxed and welcoming garden party, all of our guests enjoyed the day.

The team at Historic Motorworks Ltd are having a busy week putting the finishing touches on a showcase engine build.

The beating heart of a 1966 Ford Mustang has been painstakingly restored and upgraded ready to display at this Sunday’s

The brief was to rebuild the engine with a relatively standard appearance and colour scheme with some respectful improvements. The engine bay has been freshly painted to house this 289 V8.

Many new internal components have been restored or replaced in the interest of performance and reliability. The engine is mated to an overhauled automatic gearbox, freshly ice blasted and presenting excellently.

The engine has been Dyno’d at 236bhp with 297lbs torque, plenty of ponies to propel this American Icon.

The team are looking forward to getting the car over to Bloomsbury on Sunday and talking through their work and the final specifications of the build with the guests.

Looking back at last Saturday.

We joined the East Hanningfield Summer Fete for the first time. It is a village we have made our home over the last year and we’re very proud to be here. We have been made to feel welcome and valued as a local business.

We were grateful to be able to present a varied range of classics at the Fete, most of which we have worked on or will be working on soon. From Sunbeams to S2000s, Aston Martins to Corvettes it was a reminder of the importance of the community of friends we are building.

And what a nice bunch they all are!

Thank you to those that joined us at the Fete and thank to the East Hanningfield community for making the day happen.

We’re already looking forward to next year!

We’ve just completed one of our highly rated vehicle inspections on this wonderful Jaguar E-type.

We’ll be reporting back to our client with a few service items to complete over the next few weeks but for now we’re taking a moment to admire a fine example of perhaps the most beautiful car ever designed…

If you have a classic Jaguar please contact us to find out how we can assist you with service, maintenance or restoration.

On Saturday we were joined by two car clubs and their friendly members

Thank you to the East Saxons Group and who came to view the workshop and see our current projects. We enjoyed talking them through the TR6 that has just been returned to the owner along with our Volvo P1800 rebuild project. It was helpful to see a regularly driven P1800 E brought by a knowledgeable owner that could provide some further reference points for our build.

One of the TR club members brought something unexpected, a delightful Carmen Red over Tan interior Jaguar XK150 FHC 3.8 and it was most welcome.
