The Elf from the Tempest Arms in Elslack came over today to help us out over the Christmas period. Not sure he could reach the brake pedal. He did have a good attempt at moving the steering wheel for Adam. The gear lever was a bit of a challenge. A few driving lessons from Harry might help. We often see repairs to vehicles that have been undertaken by none qualified, inexperienced or mechanics who have not kept up to date with there up skilling or industry training. One such job came into our workshop last week. Some body had fitted an incorrect battery type. The battery fitted in the battery tray, but the result was the charging system over charged the new battery, damaging it and causing the vehicle to suffer from other issues. A costly mistake made by a person who replaced the battery on the cheap. Just because the battery fits in the battery tray does not mean the battery is the correct one.

We are often asked why they can be a price difference in servicing cars. They are many reasons. The main reasons are the quality of the servicing, Using the correct parts and the skill set of the technician working on your car. Servicing to Manufacturer approved standards.

Ford Fiesta and Focus wet belts have a bad reputation for breaking up. If the car is serviced correctly using the correct oils they will last until the recommended change interval. The car we have in today for a wet belt change has covered 90,000 miles on the original wet belt. The car has been serviced using the Ford approved oils. It really does make a difference.

The next time you are given a cheaper price for a service, ask the garage what engine oils and parts are they using? Are they original manufacture approved parts? Do your staff undertake up skill/CPD training in the latest technology and industry practises?

The dearest service you can ever have is the one you paid the cheapest for or never had. Don't compromise on quality for the sake of a few pounds. We would rather explain the price of quality than have to apologies for something less.

When filling up AdBlue on your vehicle it is recommended that only good quality AdBlue is used. Cheap or AdBlue that has been stored out side in the sun light can cause costly issues with the anti pollution system. An AdBlue filler should also be used. This helps prevent over filling, which could cause the sonic level sensor to become damaged or miss read. This can cause the system to shut down. We also supply AdBlue in 10 Litre containers from only £21.20. For advice on maintaining your AdBlue speak to Paul or Adam. Pay cheap pay twice.
