Dear Deerdale Racers and visiters

IMPORTANT – WILDFIRE RISK ALERT

Following recent alerts and guidance regarding the very high wildfire risk across the UK, we are taking immediate precautions to help protect the track, surrounding land, members and local area.

As a result, with immediate effect, BBQs, smoking, or anything else that could potentially cause a fire are prohibited anywhere at the Deerdale Off Road Club.

Inluding but not limited to:

🚫 No BBQs – including disposable BBQs
🚭 No smoking outside vehicles
🔥 No activities or items that could cause or start a fire

If you need to smoke, you may only do so inside your vehicle, with the cigarette fully extinguished and disposed of safely.

This is a temporary safety measure and will remain in place until the wildfire risk has reduced sufficiently for us to lift the restriction.

We appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but the current conditions mean that even a small discarded cigarette, BBQ, spark or other source of ignition could potentially start a serious fire.

Please ensure that all members of your group are aware of this rule before attending the track as non of us would like to explain to the farmer why his field is on fire.!

Evening all
Just a quick one. When I was driving in this evening there was an enormous amount of traffic heading toward LockWill island just off the Rainworth Bypass
No idea what’s going on but it seemed to be temporary traffic lights on the island. I was sat for 15 minutes and didn’t move. If you are coming to the track I strongly recommend you come through clipstone and turn right off the main road into the track rather than turning left
