2013 Audi A4 lowered properly
We brought this Audi in for a service as our customer hadn’t long purchased it and wanted to make sure everything was 100% with it as it had a few noises in it when going over bumps or rough ground.
We asked the customer what their plans were for it and they said over time they’ll lower it, tidy up the brake callipers and put on a set of bigger wheels.
Once we did our service checkover we found all front lower arms to be in bad shape and all 4 shocks to be leaking or busted and suspected the top mounts on the shocks to be the suspect of the banging noises.
We contacted the customer and confirmed that this would be a perfect time to install the coilovers they had already purchased and sort all in one go.
Vehicle received a full service
Brakes freshened up with removing all rust and greasing where necessary
4 Meyle HD lower arms
4 Meyle HD droplinks(front and rear)
We fitted a brand new coilover kit and fitted 4 new top mounts in the process.
Customer requested that they wanted it as low as possible but still drive-able
(challenge accepted😎)
We made all the necessary safe adjustments and modifications to different parts, so the vehicle could sit low without the risk of destroying any bushings that move with the suspension, by simply loosening all the bushings that move with the shocks, getting it to the height we were happy with. We then jacked up each corner one by one to the height they’d sit if the vehicle was on the ground, we use this method in all vehicles that we fit with bushings or arms; this prevents them from busting prematurely and also contributes to helping to lower vehicles them few precious mm’s more.
When fitting coilovers we allow them to sit as low as possible over 12hours to allow the suspension to settle on full tension, so when we readjust to the height we want it to sit at, there is no risk of any suspension settling afterwards or risk of damage. This method also contributes to a softer suspension travel rather than the hard feel from other vehicles fitted with coilovers.
(Theres a method to our madness)🤪
By following our process and making the adjustments the way we have, the springs are sitting tight with no movement when jacked up. 😎
