BMW G30 Driving Assistance Plus Retrofit ✅
This car left the factory with only standard cruise control, so the first upgrade was Active Cruise Control (ACC), including the front radar and new steering wheel buttons.
Later, I decided to go all the way and retrofit the full Driving Assistance Plus package. This was required:
🔹 New mirrors for Blind Spot
🔹 4 additional radars
🔹 New steering wheel with vibration & touch detection
🔹 Extensive additional wiring
🔹 Custom wiring looms made in-house
🔹 KAFAS FSC codes and programming
Not everything required for this retrofit can simply be bought ready-made, so a lot of the wiring had to be designed and made from scratch.
The KAFAS camera also required additional FSC codes, which were patched in-house without using any third parties.
Probably one of the most time-consuming retrofit jobs I’ve completed, and naturally it had to be on my own car. 😅
Since completing the retrofit, the car has covered over 4,200 miles across Europe, and Driving Assistance Plus was an absolute lifesaver on those long motorway journeys. It made the whole trip much more comfortable and relaxing, especially during the long-distance sections. 👌
4,300+ miles later, everything is working exactly as it should. ✅
Full OEM-style functionality, as if the car had left the factory with it.
