🚗 SMALL CAR, BIG PROBLEM!

They say good things come in small packages… but sometimes problems do, too! 😄

This gorgeous little 1972 Fiat 500 arrived at VK Classics with a frustrating issue: the engine was running, but the car wouldn't go anywhere!

🔧 The culprit? A missing clip on the driver's-side outer driveshaft CV joint.
Without that tiny but essential part, the driveshaft was spinning freely instead of transferring power to the wheels.

One tiny missing clip. One completely stranded Fiat! 🤦‍♂️

Thankfully, we solved the mystery, and while this little Italian classic is in our care, it's also getting a full service before heading back out to enjoy the open road. 🇮🇹

🚐 Sometimes the simple fixes are the best ones!

This 1985 VW T25 Campervan arrived at the workshop with a no-start issue.

After investigating, we found the culprit: the fuel feed hose wasn’t connected. We replaced a couple of hoses and fuel filters, and the engine fired back to life. 🔧

While it was with us, the owner also treated it to a quick service.

The result? It now starts on the first turn of the key! 👌

🐞 **A 1974 VW Beetle 1303 in the workshop!**

This lovely Beetle is with us to investigate a few **running issues** that have been troubling its owner.

We’ll work through the usual suspects, run checks, and get to the bottom of what’s causing it before making any necessary repairs. 🔧

Hopefully, this classic VW will be running just as it should again soon!

A routine tune-up that turned into something much bigger!

This 1973 MG Midget 1275cc originally came into the workshop for a straightforward tune-up. Once we started inspecting the car, however, it became clear it needed much more attention.

🔧 Bodywork & structural repairs

• Driver’s floor replaced
• Sections of the front frame replaced
• Section of the driver’s inner sill replaced

⚙️ Mechanical work

• Gearbox rebuilt
• Timing chain replaced
• Engine resealed
• Front and rear wheel bearings replaced
• Track rod ends replaced
• Steering rack boots replaced
• Heater valve upgraded

🛠️ Servicing

• All fluids changed

After all that, we finally got around to the tune-up it originally came in for! 😄

A much bigger job than expected, but the MG is now sorted and back home with its owner. Another classic that needed a bit more attention. 👌

This classic British sports car is with us for a few adjustments to the door handles and locks, making sure everything operates and closes exactly as it should.

Not every job on a classic needs to be a major restoration; sometimes it’s the smaller details that make all the difference. 🔧👌

This 1976 Commer PB van is with us for investigation after experiencing overheating issues.

With a classic of this age, overheating can have several causes, so we’ll work through the cooling system to identify what’s going on before deciding what needs to be done.

🔧 **This T2 is in for some serious work!** 🔧

This VW T2 has arrived at VK Classics for a major mechanical overhaul, including:

🛠️ A new front axle
🛠️ Complete front suspension overhaul
🛠️ Gear linkage update
🛠️ New EMPI trigger shifter

A big job, but one that should make a huge difference to how this classic drives and feels on the road. 🚐💨

This MG Midget is in the workshop for a pre-purchase inspection.

A classic can look right in the photos and feel right on a short drive. The things that cost real money tend to hide underneath, behind trim, or in paperwork that does not quite add up.

An hour or two on the ramp with someone who knows these cars tells you what you are really buying. Sometimes that is peace of mind. Sometimes it is a reason to walk away, or a fair reason to negotiate.

Do not risk it. Get it inspected before you buy.
