Delighted to announce we will be running in the Scottish Mini Cooper Cup next year again with Stuartt McPhadenn in the 53 car - prep is starting to get going for the car for next year and we can’t wait to race on the BTCC!

The SMRC are delighted to confirm that the Scottish MINI Cooper Cup will return to the BTCC support package for the Knockhill round of the 2027 season. A trio of races will take place on the 7th to 8th of August, with it forming the headline event for the Scottish Championship in 2027. The third race will take place on Sunday afternoon and will be televised live on ITV4.

The Scottish MINI Cooper Cup is no stranger to the TOCA package, as it has featured on multiple occasions in the past. But the return in 2027 will mark the end of a 14 year hiatus, with the last appearance of the championship coming at Knockhill in 2013. The return has been received with great enthusiasm by competitors and the club alike.

The Championship is exclusively for the R50 variant of the MINI Cooper and promises to provide some close racing and entertaining on track action.

🏁 C1 Cup 2026 — Season Finale 🏁

Glad we managed to end the season on a high with 3rd overall, P3 in Race 1 and P1 in Race 2! 🔥

Also buzzing to see Scott finish his final race with us with 2x Newcomer wins and a top 5 finish, taking 6th overall in his first year — best of the rest! 👏👏

It’s been a pleasure running Scott this year and watching him progress throughout the season. Good luck to him on his pastures new — hopefully we’ll see plenty more success from him in the future! 🤝

Chuffed to see Teammate Scott Ch-uk take the newcomers this season going into the final round , same as myself in my first year 1 year ago.- hard work all year in his first season of car racing and it’s finally paid off👏

Glad to see my wee idea of running my own team end up with someone achieving a championship trophy at the end of it.

Massive thanks to all involved, you know who you are. - especially Jjohn Mmiller and Wee Michael for their hard work this season.

Massive thanks to Racing Owl Motorsport for their tyre support this year too - been instrumental in building the consistency and feeling within a new car so thank you to them.

Sad to say this will be Scott’s last race in a Scottish c1 as he moves onto pastures new after this - it’s been a pleasure working with Scott and it’ll be a bittersweet final race together - as for next year - more on that later 🤪💙

🏁 Final round of the 2026 Scottish C1 Cup! 🏁

We head into the final weekend sitting 3rd in the championship, with less than 25 points separating the top three — so there’s still everything to play for! 👊

The goal is simple: keep the run of consistent top 3 finishes going, maximise the weekend, and see where we end up come the final flag. 💪

Hopefully Scott can get the job done and finish off the Newcomers Championship after a frustrating DNF in Race 3 last time out. That issue has now been rectified and tested, so fingers crossed for a strong final round!

A massive thanks to Stuart for taking the time out to test the car for me, and to John for all the work between rounds — prepping and sorting the cars, and getting the wee setup issues from the last round fixed on the car too. It’s massively appreciated! 👌

🏁 ROUND 5 RACE REPORT | SCOTTISH C1 CUP 🏁

What a weekend at Knockhill! 🔥 A proper fight from start to finish, and the championship battle is heating up nicely! 👊

QUALIFYING 🏎️ After a red flag interrupted qualifying, we managed to put it on P3 for the opening race. Time to get stuck in!

RACE 1 🥈 What a battle! Battling Marc Nisbet for the lead all the way to the flag. We pushed each other throughout, and after a seriously close race, we came home P2! 💪

RACE 2 🥈 Starting near the front, we battled it out with Marc for the first few laps before settling into P2 behind Marc. Another strong result and more valuable championship points on the board! 🔥

RACE 3 🥉 Starting from P5, we had work to do! We were making progress before a red flag came out and took away all the progress we’d made. 😩

Back at it, we fought our way up to P2 and once again found ourselves battling Marc Nisbet in another incredibly close race. We eventually settled for P3, with less than a tenth separating us over the line! 😮‍💨🏁

📈 THE CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE

The gap at the top has come right down! With just 25 points separating the top 3 heading into the final round, everything is still to play for! 🔥

One final round. One final push. Let’s see what we can do! 💪

Well done to Scott and Adam on their races this weekend!

🏆 Scott took two Newcomers wins, continuing his fantastic form, but sadly suffered a DNF in Race 3 after running in P4. Unlucky, mate!

Adam continued to put in the work, and it’s great to have the whole team pushing forward! 👊

🏁 RACE WEEK! 🏁

It’s time for Round 5 of the Scottish C1 Cup at Knockhill A/C — and we’re back for 3 races this weekend! 🔥

After a strong last round with a 4th and a 2nd, the aim this weekend is simple… build on that, keep banking the points and hopefully get ourselves back on the top step! 🏆💪

There’s been plenty going on behind the scenes since the last meeting, and it’s been a real shift getting everything done and sorted after some annoying decisions from the last round that were completely out of our control. But we’ve put it behind us, got the head down and we’re ready to go again! 👊

My teammate Scott will be looking to build on the pace he showed at the last meeting and get closer to wrapping up the Newcomers Championship. I’ve got every confidence in him to get the job done — he’s been flying this season! 🔥🏆

It’s also great to see Adam joining us in the #26 car for his first outing! After spending the season helping out on the sidelines, he finally gets his chance to get behind the wheel — looking forward to seeing what he can do! 👊

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has helped us get everything ready since the last round. It’s been a hectic turnaround, but the support has been absolutely brilliant.
