Today is a special day, 2 of my kids John and Melissa(now adults) are starting their Ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, they raised £6000 between them and their entire group raised £/$1,000,000 (either dollars or pounds unsure)
It's a 5/6 day climb through 5 different biomes and 5,895m of height.
I am immensely proud and wish them luck and safe travels as they follow in their Mums footsteps who completed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2014 ###

Good Morning,
It looks like things are moving in the right direction.
I have managed to secure a vehicle for return to work on Monday, I just need to organise collection time.
I will be in touch with those people who have their lessons on Monday and Tuesday sometime this evening.
Regards the insurance side of things we are still awaiting a decision regarding liability and valuation for my own vehicle so that might still be some time and further conversations.

As I am still waiting on replies from Insurance Companies and unsure of drivers liabilities regarding the collision I am in the process of organising a self funded hire vehicle to enable me to get back to work.
The hope is that I can be back to work by Monday late morning, if this is the case I will be in touch with people regarding Monday and Tuesday lessons once I have full details of vehicle.

Having spent the day with emails, phone calls a discussion with the responsible parties and 5 minutes to grab some final pieces from my car.
It looks like valuations are being prepared for writing the car off, I have made enquiries regarding a hire Dual Control vehicle in the short term more information to be provided when I have it.
My view has always been that cars can be repaired, replaced and as long as no serious injury has been caused then it will all work out, I stand by that, as frustrated as I am about not getting back to work the other parties are all going though something similar and I'm happy that no injury has been suffered by anyone. Here are some photos that may back up why we must all be prepared for the unexpected.

Unfortunately while on holiday I was made aware my car, while in possession of a third party, was involved in a 4 car collision, having seen photos the damage is quite extensive. I am Unfortunately unable to commit to a date of return to work as this time.
Today (20/07/26) I will spend time having those conversations and trying to get some sort of idea as to when this might me possible.
I can understand the frustration that this might cause, please be patient and continue to check back for further updates.

2 of my kids (Adults now) are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in August super proud of them and following in their Mums footsteps from 2014 when Melissa was only 8 and John 16.

Melissa and John are preparing to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for a good cause.

I'm sharing this post because it is something I'm seeing on a regular basis, drivers driving through red lights after the Pedestrian has completely crossed the road at a Pedestrian crossing. I am shocked at some of the comments on this post and the views that some of them are trying to convey.
Rules 196 and 199 of the highway code are applicable here, while Rule 199 is guidance only you need to refrence rules 175 through 178 to understand that crossing a white line on red is Illegal. I wonder if those same people think crossing a solid white line at a crossroads while the light is red is acceptable, I'm 90+% sure their insurance companies would take a dim view of the risk they are causing and rules that are being broken.

At first I thought it was a conspiracy.
It seemed to only be happening to me.
I was sure someone was watching.
I'm now 100% sure that I know why Fife Council doesn't have any money.
About a year ago I forgot to put my bin out the evening before bin day, 7am binmen emptying bins, DAMN, oh well thats my fault.
Weeks and months went by bin was out in the evening, binmen don't arrive until afternoon and on odd occasion next day.
Last night, wet, cold, miserable, I forgot to put the bin out, 730am bin is being emptied, AAARRRGGGHHH,
I'm sure if you ask my wife there was a more serious version of that, 🤣
So I'm now 100% certain Fife Council is paying someone to come check if my bin is out overnight and like some IMF covert operation they have the binmen out as early as possible to empty the bins in my street 🤔
What do we think? Conspiracy or Just my damn luck. 🤣

I had an interesting conversation over the weekend, I felt I'd share a little bit of it and some of my reasoning behind my decision.

I was asked, "why do you only charge £35 for lessons when the local average is £40-45"
It might seem low but there are a few reasons some personal, some professional.

1. I'm in a fortunate position personally where I can continue to charge £35, not every driving instructor is in the same position.
2. Charging £40 per hour might close learning to drive off to some people, those same people may be the ones who need to learn to drive for their own reasons.
3. No discounts, charging £35 allows those that can afford to pay for a block of ten lessons feel like they are getting a reasonable price while not affecting those that can only pay for lessons weekly being forced to pay £40 while others can get a lesson at £35.
4. Finally, a metric that I have used over the years is that the price of 1 driving lesson should cover the cost of 2 days worth of lessons, currently that is £35.
